The exterior design was unique and special but the interior a total disappointment. Basic mcMansion style elements and finishes.

Now THIS is one HELLUVA gorgeous home...!!! Most are just to modern today for my tastes. However, this home mixes the best of both worlds. But i think it's the grounds that get me the most excited about this property. The small waterfall, brook, pond with gazebo etc...

The land and the house is beautiful. Everything I ever wanted. All the nooks and crannys. like living in my own country. I would never get bored walking around those grounds. you can't even get tired of family in that house. If they start bugging you you could lose them around the next corner. Love this houses old charm.
That kitchen and that wallpaper would definitely have to go.
I dream of Christmas dinners in this home!

This home is absolutely stunning! It is so warm and inviting compared to a lot of other large homes I have seen.

The SQFT of living space is off the chart... The interior from the hand banisters to the wallpaper and drapes scream OLD & CHEAP for a $9 million dollar home in 2002... PEACE.
I live in California filled with bad taste McMansions. You have such good taste back East! Gorgeous.

If only my dear mother were alive, and I had the means, I'd buy it for her... as she is only one I know who was so deserving.... But then, I'm sure she finds heaven even more beautiful. Thanks for the showing, it is outrageously gorgeous and beautiful.
The yard is amazing
Although it does not look grand on the outside, the architect makes an intelligent use of the space that makes it feel you're living in a mansion. Great job. Additionally, the outdoor woodland has been beautifully designed to be "human friendly". Astonishing!
I live across the street from this place and always wondered what it looked like on the inside, very impressive! In recent years the owners have let the yard decline drastically. My grandparents almost bought this home in the early 2000’s but thought the neighborhood “wasn’t nice enough” lmao

I have lived in rental homes for most of my adult life. I take pride in my yards regardless of ownership or not, just a personal thing. I have been complimented several times both before and after I have moved on my "lawn whisperer" care and maintenance as well as lighting and ambience. Some noting how the lawns I took care of are now dead and dry due to the new renter not caring :(. It irritates me so much to know people have so much more than I have and still don't take care about their property. Hard work with my hands is free. I don't need money to produce hard work. I would have kept this properties beauty with so much pride. So much so, I think I would haunt this place after I had died...LOL.
This estate is simply elegant.

You and me both and the garage is attached and it's on the 'back' of the house. I'm old school that way. I still think the garage belongs on the back of a house. I like to see a nice laundry room in a home but I don't get mad when I view these various homes on the Tube and see one with a washing machine and dryer in the kitchen. I guess I aged myself with that last one. I don't mind seeing that at all. Heated garage I like the sound of that myself.

As a music teacher it never ceases to amaze me how they choose this "music" that repeats itself over and over and over and over!!!! Drives me NUTZ!!! Have to mute it, even though I'd love to hear what that narrator w/the oh so soothing voice has to say!!!!
For a huge house it’s sure is homely, this house has elegance and class also, I see what some people mean about the curtains and wallpaper but I feel it fits the house. I hope whichever family buys this house enjoys it.

Speak for your selves folks. The wall paper is the second thing that gets my admiration here. First is the kitchen. But I'm not a fan of red brick homes. I'm saving this video for great ideas on interior finishing. It's a very beautiful home.

This is an exceptional home. The custom built cabinetry is top notch, just beautiful. There was attention paid to even the smallest of details in this home. The absence of a pool and guest house with all that acreage is strange. For the selling price of 5 million compared to the building price of 9 million this house is a real bargain. Has this house sold yet? Is this a foreclosure or quick sale which would maybe explain the deep reduction in price? Thank you for sharing this beautiful and unique home with us.

If you work in Boston, you don't want to drive every morning & afternoon there. Traffic is a nightmare. God forbids it's snowing. Better off parking at the train station, take the train into town.
It was so relaxing watching this, it made me think of Cinderella... like a beautiful fairy tale but yet possible... thanks to the narrator as well great voice

You get to use it for 2 month and a half. The weather starts cooling in September, Sometimes it's still cold in mid June. That's Massachusetts! Maybe heated indoor pool?
