    I love how honest Cziffra was - you have to work hard. There are no secrets to mastering the piano. You have to work smart of course, but you have to work hard as well. I'm learning French myself and I can testify to the fact that although there are secrets to learning the language faster, nothing but hard work will help you achieve real fluency. The same goes for anything in life.

    I'm working on english subtitles for this vid, hopping to post them soon Edit: it's done! There are some excerpts where I really can't hear what is being said but I tried overall to be as close as possible to what Cziffra says and to the way he says it. Formatting is inconsistent because I've never done subtitles before

    The piano professor whom Cziffra is talking about (and who is seen sitting next to him) at 26:36-26:55 is György Ferenczy, NOT János Ferencsik. (Ferencsik was a conductor.)

  • @endrekerekes7929
    @endrekerekes79297 күн бұрын

    26:39 The professor is not Ferencsik, he is György Ferenczy! He was an excellent pianist, with a taste for Chopin, Liszt and even the Baroque composers. He discovered Cziffra - together with Tamás Vásáry - as a bar pianist in the Kedves presszó.

    Great documentary! Thank you so much for putting the effort and subtitling the whole thing. One correction, if I may, at 26'40, Cziffra talks about György Ferenczy who was teaching at the Liszt Academy. He calls him Georges Ferenczy a few seconds later. So he's not referring to the famous conductor János Ferencsik. Here's a link to some Chopin by Ferenczy: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pmF1tK6uXcKdfdI.html
