While I am not against either or because I love Naruto, Bleach, Dragon Ball Kai, Yu Yu Hakusho and an assortment of different anime's. But there are definite setbacks that we experience when we live in the virtual world and never engage in real life. I hope this video helps some of you gain the confidence and the strength to gain the skills to life a happy and satisfied life.

I'm in college now studying engineering, and I realize that I don't need to play videogames anymore. It was eating away at everything I have dreamed of. I always dreamed of having a better life, more friends, a good job. a car. better grades. But every time I thought about it , it stressed me out and that stress was fixed by playing games and it was this never ending cycle until now. I have played video games since i was 10 and never thought I would stop playing until I realize what it was doing to me. Thank you for this video it has reassured me and made me feel more confident in leaving the fantasy world for good.

im in that same position, even studying engineering as well. I put in over 500 hours into destiny 2 solely over this christmas break, and realized that those 500 hours aren't going to do anything for my future. Its good to play videogames with friends to destress and all, but there is so much more experiences in life than playing videogames 8-12 hours a day. If those 500 hours were put somewhere else, I would be much more closer to the point I truly want to be in life

This is such an important topic for both men and women. It goes much deeper when creating fantasy worlds as our brains often cannot make the distinction between a memory and a detailed fantasy. We grow up gaining instant fulfilment from the video games and shows but then feeling emptiness as the relationships and connections don’t actually exist, neither does the progress you think you’ve made in an area of life from dreaming it vividly. Psycho-Cybernetics preaches that you can turn this on it’s head and use it for your good, which is something you might be interested in exploring...?

You're right, but nerdy people and those who are socially awkward existed way before Anime and video games came into the picture for many Generations. And there are many people who play video games and watch anime and still maintain a great career, and a happy relationship. There are people who are just hooked on only anime and video games and use that as their escape from people and reality, but that's not neither anime or video games fault. There are people who are addicted to drugs, porn, video games, gambling, Gym, steroids, social media, clubbing, sex, body image, money, celebrities, conspiracy, and excetera that can ruin their social lives.

Addressing it like this can make those in the community defensive and others that are doing what you’re talking about just with different mediums overlooked. This seems more like a call to those that aren’t balanced in social skills and discipline. This same issue can take place with people that consumes an unbalanced amount of Netflix, Sports, books, podcasts, social media and pretty much any medium that is not balanced with a healthy social life and interaction with other humans. Dope overall message tho

Fyodor Dostoyevsky BROTHERS KARAMAZOV. You don't have to be religious to understand the sentiment in this passage: "The world has proclaimed the reign of freedom, especially of late, but what do we see in this freedom of theirs? Nothing but slavery and self-destruction! For the world says: "You have desires and so satisfy them, for you have the same rights as the most rich and powerful. Don't be afraid of satisfying them and even multiply your desires." That is the modern doctrine of the world. In that they see freedom. And what follows from this right of multiplication of desires? In the rich, isolation and spiritual suicide; in the poor, envy and murder; for they have been given rights, but have not been shown the means of satisfying their wants. They maintain that the world is getting more and more united, more and more bound together in brotherly community, as it overcomes distance and sets thoughts flying through the air. Alas, put no faith in such a bond of union. Interpreting freedom as the multiplication and rapid satisfaction of desires, men distort their own nature, for many senseless and foolish desires and habits and ridiculous fancies are fostered in them. They live only for mutual envy, for luxury and ostentation. To have dinners visits, carriages, rank, and slaves to wait on one is looked upon as a necessity, for which life, honour and human feeling are sacrificed, and men even commit suicide if they are unable to satisfy it... ...The monastic way is very different. Obedience, fasting, and prayer are laughed at, yet only through them lies the way to real, true freedom. I cut off my superfluous and unnecessary desires, I subdue my proud and wanton will and chastise it with obedience, and with God's help I attain freedom of spirit and with it spiritual joy. Which is most capable of conceiving a great idea and serving it- the rich in his isolation or the man who has freed himself from the tyranny of material things and habits? "

Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood gave me hope. And made me realize that this ain’t the life I can live anymore. I’m a female though; if you get on reddit. It’s affecting everybody. I think especially for men; because because it’s escapism for being the hero. I don’t like saying that; but I think that’s a big thing. Those moments in those shows and games they make us Alive. When we should chase that in REAL LIFE. But shows like naruto, FMAB, MoB Psycho shows the importance of life, and self improvement. I hope that others take those lessons as much as I did. In school to get into nursing school. And slowly; as I’m walking my purpose, I’m getting closer to the woman I want to be. Hafeez! Keep talking about this stuff man. The content is amazing. Young boys need you. I see so many hurt boys walking around and it breaks my heart. And it helps a woman like me not feel alone and hopeful that men aren’t so bad. Keep going man.

As an anime fan myself I 100% agree with you. When i was 13 i was so OBESSED with it! But as i got older i noticed that there's a lot of toxicisty going around in both anime and the anime community. I distance myself from it and i only watch like 6 anime. Like Attack On Titan, Death Note, Fruits Basket, Demon Slayer My Hero Academia, Little Witch Academia. But im also more open to other stuff like traveling, learning more to cook and bake, drawing more, reading books, gardening and growing my own food (mini garden) and also how to better myself and socialize to people. So Thank you Good Sir for making great points about it and respecting us at the same time ☺ It's all about balance

It fucken kills me! That he'll never get those lost years back, it hurts me even more that I dont know how to help him? He wont listen to me anyway. I tried from the very start to keep my boys away from fucken video games! Their father used them as a way to buy them off, and has moved on his way leaving my youngest lost and confused, who knows? I cant get him to open up. I did discover today that he doesnt know how to be an adult, that is why Im watching your video. To help me know what to say to him. Im going to have him watch some vidoes Ive come across and tell him will talk about it after he watches. I can help clear up things that he may not have understood. Let him know Im here for im, utimately he has to be the one that really wants this.

AOT introduced depression into my life. Idk how I got there.. but following the series for a little above 3 years, I've let character deaths and the intense backstories eat away a part of me, each time. Knowing what awaits fans the coming season.. atleast for those that have read the manga it's only distressing. And, I've been going through this episode for atleast the past 2 months, that's when I finished reading the manga. Now I have to get my life together. I've become more deprived and anxious. I go blank during conversations and so on. Many people aren't affect by it atleast to this extent. But me in specific, I've no clue what's going on. Oddly enough, Ymir's death and her tragic past was what triggered a sense of grief within me and the music score just adds up to that sequence. It's mesmerising and depressing at the same time. If anyone could reach out to me and give tips how to overcome post anime depression, I'd deeply appreciate it.

Idk how to help but I always found how passionate Eren was to kill the titans only to die in his first fight relatable. The achieving his goals part not the getting eaten part obviously. And he is in the stomach and still says he will kill all the titans which causes him to transform. I guess I could recommend looking at the good parts and epic soundtracks of it. Like I said idk how to help but I tried something.

The problem is the difficulty of striking a balance. I tried it and failed. The system I followed was that every hour I made an effort for anything (study - leaving the house - sitting with my family), I would record 30 permissible minute to watching (anime - manga - web novels) Provided that the period does not exceed four hours. The system worked at first, but after a while I began to only look forward to the end of four hours of the day to the point that I could not focus on anything in my day. The last four hours were the only ones I looked forward to out of the 16 hours I was awake. In the end, I canceled the system, unfortunately. What system do you follow??

Great video. Sometimes it works in reverse though...I've been in social groups where all the gamers are women and the guys are ignorant of the subject. Personally I think the problem is entitlement. Certain guys expect a girlfriend and a wife at a certain age and get angry when it's not given to them. What they fail to realize is that relationships are projects; they are things you build up over the course of a long time. That's why early exposure and practice is essential. I don't understand why Incels are so short sighted. If the world is unfair...why not focus on yourself and make the pursuit of virtue and discipline a core focus of your life? You can't control how women will react...but you can control your own actions. Attacking women verbally makes you look, well, immature. Unless your desire is to become the next Marquis de Sade. However even Sade had no pretensions that he would ever be respected by people. In his final will, he wished for no sympathy; he wanted to be forgotten from the minds of men. He died as he lived...angry and alone. Incels...is this the legacy you want to leave behind?

I wasted my teens and 20s fapping to porn and video/pc games, now I'm 31 NEET living with parents, and as you said isolation led to zero experience, then led to social anxiety and loneliness. One good thing is that I take care of myself I have zero addictions, I hit the gym regulary, I help with everything I can, try not to be a complete f leach. I'm smart and in shape, but again that isolation, lack of experience, low self esteem, no friends/girlfriends led to huge social problems later in life.

I dont know man I think you're reading a little to much into addiction and personal expectations. Comming from a hard core anime fan who has anime tats what your talking about having not realistic expectations on women and social anxiety to talk to any I did not experience from anime. Iv had multiple gfs and multiple hook ups. Also anime litterly has text book examples of corny flirting which I tested on girls who weren't into anime at all. Lol it worked. You also can't really show gaming and anime cause more social anxiety in life compared to any other form of media outlet. It's not like they are closest hobbies either, not hard to find someone who will atleast tolerate it if not like. Also telling people don't do these things cause it effects your health just sounds stupid, you're not constantly going to be active. Depending on how obsessed someone is with a show or character they may even try to make Hobbits based on it. Example when I was fat once I watched a boxing anime, I got so pumped by it I litterly worked out to extream every day and hard core diets along side the show, then took up boxing. Lol o en I was in a relationship at the time not in a basement terrified of people.... point is it can have positive and negative effects on different people but trying to bias it as a particularly bad choice of media just sounds stupid

I really enjoy anime and I don't give a rats butt about what people say lol. I like what I like. There's some really great people in the anime community. Legit, I found out my boss likes anime not too long ago. Such a wonderful day it was to discover that.
