I too experienced some difficulty in the initial days after I migrated to Europe thirty five years ago. But soon I started using toilet tissue to wipe most of the dirt and then cleaning with warm water. I still do this, except when froced to use public toilets outside. In that case, I immediately wash once I return home. People, who came to Europe many years ago, have got used to using toilet tissues. Many of the people from the Asian subcontinent, who came in the last 10 years, except nurses, (they adapt quickly to situations and circumstances due to the exposure they get from working in various countries) do not use or let alone buy toilet tissues. They use water to clean and mess up the toilet, toilet seat and the rear of the toilet seats. Some of them install bidet to make things easier.

Interestingly enough, i integrated both tissue paper and water in my routine earlier on. I didn't necessarily like wet feeling after wards using water nor the dry feeling afterwards using tissue So i used small water spray bottle to the tissue to dampen it do my business and it was a happy feeling😜 but now a days lot of ppl are using bidets here... Ppl sort of like it i think.
