Good to see another action-cam review by you :-) Seems like all these budget action-cams seems to be lacking in one (or more) category or another. This one ticks a lot of good points (well build/good sound) but is lacking in the IQ category. When do they get it right? I was hoping the Akaso Brave 7 would be the one (also well build/good IQ/okay EIS) but it's totally let down by it's appaling sound. For now I'll keep using my Campark V30.

Thanks for the solid/informative review. Being budget minded and a periodic kayaker I'm betting this is my best choice with being water tight and most especially good sound quality out of the case. (Sound quality has been an issue with every cheap camera I've owned.) Thanks

@@yangyangxiao9602 Hello Yes, I did buy it but I am in the process of returning it. (This may have been just bad luck with one camera but the sound quality is very, very bad outside of the water proof case and I was unable to correct it). The microphone would not pick up sound more than 2 inches away and even then, it was garbled. Amazon nor this supplier have any more available currently so I wasn't able to order a replacement.

The XTU X1 is the best sub 200 action camera on the market. I’ll be uploading a review tonight!

I'm checking it out right now, and it's OK, however the DJI Osmo at $199 is still a better deal. The EIS can't keep up to Rocksteady while maintaining the same level of detail. And the mic is not as clear. However, if the X1 were around $120 - $150, I could definitely see it being a recommend. At $199 it starts to compete with the big boys and while it is a great budget brand cam, it still stands out with some budget brand characteristics.

@@DrekiTech in Canada the osmo frequently costs 70 dollars more than the XTU, as well as their extra battery charger being 90 instead of XTUs 25 so all in all there is a price difference of around 130 dollars. Still, the camera has some flaws and I definitely recognize that the osmo is the better option. I was originally going to buy the v30 from your review until I stumbled upon the X1

@@theroadnottakentravel I bought mine off of Amazon Canada recently and the difference was $20 CAD. If I'd imported from the US from B&H or something it would have been on par, as they have free shipping to Canada (just pay customs fees)

Yes, however it needs a lot of light for webcam mode.
