Some things should NOT be remade, The Partridge Family is one of them. What's the point? Just cashing in on a title and its success doesn't guarantee a quality product, like this.

My life has taken a bad turn the last couple of years, and I am trying to hold my head up and hang on, but after seeing this; I don't think I am going to make it! This makes the original series look like an Orson Welles work!

Third rock of the sun dude playing Rubin lol Its a good video, no one could replace the original. But at least this bunch actually sang and played . No audio back ground. That part of the show was a let down. Keith and Shirley did sing, so they made up for it at least :) Haaaaaaa DANNY end of this video. Priceless

David Cassidy was an executive producer? Why? This is truly awful. Someone below said it perfectly, none of these people, ( I know Emma Stone has gone on to be a very successful actress) in this anyway, had any charisma. Who decided to do this? I still watch the original show when it appears on a local retro channel. It is amazing how natural everyone in the original series was, and the music was seriously wonderful. Those songs were beautifully crafted pop songs, sung by beautiful David, and, Shirley Jones really did sing on backing vocals. The studio musicians were ace Hollywood players "The Wrecking Crew," of course mimed by Susan, Danny, Brian and Suzanne. I also can't forget the brilliant comedic talent of Dave Madden as Reuben Kincaid (Canadian, by the way ;) Very blunt here: This stinks! :(

C'mon you guys. Don't be so serious. It wasn't made to replace the original Partridge Family TV series. It was a remake with a new twist. I thought it was fun. I loved Reuben Kincaid--what a jerk. The last scene where divorced 'Dad' showed up with his life partner Bunny was a hoot. I liked the rivalry between Keith and Danny finding a gig/manager. Just plain silliness. We will always have The Partridge Family--the musical recordings and TV series. BTW, I am a big fan of the original.

Some things were done so well the first time they should be left alone. The Partridge Family was one of them.

yes. The orginal is unsurpassable. Ill give em points for effort though, and, to a lesser extent, for orgininality. I like the way they modernised it and kept it fresh what with it being video taped instead of filmed, turning it into a a reality show of sorts and making direct asides to the camera. The coda with guest apperance by danny bonaduce was a nice touch too.. If you ask me, they should have totaly gone for it and compined it with elements from the brady bunch. A multi racial blended family! Keith is played by a young African American , a love child of Shirleys and an Angola Engernerring exchange student, who went bk to his home country and got caught in his countrys fight for independence and died. Shirley Renfrew met in colledge and subequently married mr. partridge. p.s. I wish I could blame the virus- too much time on my hands, but alas...

They turned Rueben Kincade into Ari Gold from Entourage.

This was so CUTE! I wish they made more episodes.

There are millions of people who are still fans of The Partridge Family and loved the fact that they never swore, weren't vulgar, weren't gimmicky, weren't disrespectful, and David Cassidy and Shirley Jones were pure talent. This pilot is disgusting and disgraceful to the real family this was based on and the TV family. Hope it never r r airs and gets canceled. I'm sure David is puking from the other world.

He was actually executive producer … Shocking but true.

I watched this entire video with the uncontrollable ability you feel when you can't look away from a fatal car-wreck or train derailment with burning, dead bodies strewn about. It missed the mark on EVERY aspect. It wasn't funny. The music was awful. Taking the wholesome characters (that were nauseatingly perfect in the original incarnation) and tainting them with references to drugs and giving them spoken dialogue that required an Eddie Murphy "bleeper" to get it past the censers only made their superficial performance even more "one-note" forgettable. The background extras undoubtedly weren't paid enough to even get "into" character when the director yelled "action" . It was only the real-life boredom they emoted that made them more interesting to watch than the lead actors. The little kid didn't have to act at all. Every time they put a camera on him he displayed the blank look the entire cast must have had when they read the banal script. It's amazing that any re-make show could be more insignificant than the original and the producers should have insisted that at least SOME of the jokes from the first run be added so there would be ANY AT ALL! I honestly can't imagine even the catering truck person coming to set with a modicum of excitement or energy for this project. I was mesmerized by the entire video and confident it could go no deeper into inanity until 20:16 when Danny Boona ... (whatever his name is) made the least effective cameo appearance in the history of least effective cameo appearances! I stopped it 34 seconds short of its run time in case someone else from the original series and desperate for cash destroyed what's left of their careers and popped in the door! I need one of those "Men in Black" flash pens to help me forget I even saw this.

Yes, I was right you guys are insulting David Cassidy by insulting something he was trying to do. He was the co-executive producer for this remake! And it tickles me that y'all weren't paying attention even though it was true you could have been a little bit nicer. He was trying to bring back the magic even though he himself was the magic oh, I don't think he realizes that.

Everyone here is talented and did a great acting job! Just different times and cant help but compare them. This is a cute pilot. They all did well.

I like the intro,even though the theme song was very short. David Cassidy as Co-Executive Producer...GREAT!!! In this pilot,they added a NEW song called "Revolution". I even like it when it said "Based on Characters Created by Bernard Slade". What they should've done is have Shirley Jones,David Cassidy,Jeremy Gelbwaks/Brian Forster and Suzanne Crough make cameos. Danny Bonaduce makes a cameo at the very end of this.

Love it! Rueben is Hilarious! It would be nice to bring back the great music and the family concept. ❣️

I couldn't even follow the plot. Emma wasn't good in most scenes but one on one you saw a glimpse of the great actress she'd become.

The chimp and three words joke at the end were pretty good.

It's amazing how many people take this seriously! I thought it was hilarious....but of course, not real!

The only reason why this failed was because it was never meant to be, They were meant to bring back the original show with all the original characters before David, Suzanne and Dave Madden passed. 2nd time around, the show was going to be more popular than the first time it aired.

Just like when they remake Carrie. They consciously make polar opposite decisions from the original so it lacks the magic!

Lol! I love the PF and am partial to 2000s aesthetics, so I couldn't help but sort of like this. The music was great. Would it hold as a genuine "remake"? No (and I'm not big on reboots in general, so I'm glad it didn't pan out), but it's fun as a tongue-in-cheek parody. It does what it sets out to do.

the new dannys got it.I get the cropped hair but couldnt the producers have kept his red hair. Its so iconic. Otherwise its like abot without costello, chaplin without charlie..

The original show never aired on TV Land or Nick at Night (at least to my recollection), so I had no idea about this show.

They did a great job on their own version of the Partridge Family. This was funny, cute, and outstanding.

What year was this, it's kind of cute. When the original Partridge Family came on in 1970 at age 14 I was a little bit too grown up to be into it. I was more into Black Sabbath and Zeppelin and thought the partridges were Squirrely and made for little kids. However now that 50 years has almost passed I may not like the shows very much but I like hearing the theme song and a couple of the songs at age 62 because it reminds me of five decades ago when I was a child

This episode aired in 2005. In 2004, VH-1 did a televised audition show (American Idol style) hosted by the original Partridge Family cast members for this very short-lived, remake series.

Too bad this didn't make it, even as a spoof of the original. Danny Bonaduce with a Life Partner is hilarious!.

I would not do what I do without the original Partridge Family. But because I got into show biz after a fashion, *I LOVE THIS*. It's got edge and irony, like Spïnal Tap or A Mighty Wind.

This was the only attempt at a Partridge Family revival and it failed. I have no idea why there has never been another attempt. Brady Bunch, Dukes of Hazzard, Addams Family etc have stayed in popular memory because of the movies and spinoffs.
