VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
Welcome to Angie's unique journey on the road in her fully renovated 2004 Winnebago Revel, aptly named "Elevator Bed." Angie, a former military member, invites you to take a tour of her mobile home, where every corner reflects her personal touch and thoughtful design choices.
From the moment you step into her kitchen, you'll notice it's not the original Winnebago setup. Angie chose new wood for a fresh look and found a deeper sink on Amazon to accommodate her love for cooking. She cleverly utilizes space, keeping plates, frying pans, cups, and dry goods within easy reach. For cooking, she alternates between an induction cooktop and a convection stove, depending on whether she's plugged in or prefers to cook outside on a traditional camp stove.
The fridge, neatly tucked under the bench seat, offers enough space for 3-4 days' worth of fresh food, ideal for a fan of farmers' markets like Angie. This space doubles as her couch, workspace, and dining area. With the door open, it provides a beautiful view, perfect for her podcasting and KZread activities. Despite her self-confessed book problem, Angie maintains a minimalist and organized living space.
Angie's van features a sophisticated electrical and heating system, including a 2,000-watt inverter from Xantrex and a solar charge controller, supplemented by two alternators for efficient power generation. She can monitor everything from an app, making off-grid living a breeze.
Priced at $150,000 with an additional $30,000 in upgrades, including a suspension kit, Starlink, and interior modifications, Angie's van represents a significant investment in her nomadic lifestyle. Her favorite feature, the elevator bed, is both a smart use of space and a cozy retreat, thanks to a premium mattress she considers a worthwhile investment.
The wet bath serves as both a bathroom and closet, with Angie preferring to shower at Planet Fitness for convenience. She creatively utilizes every inch of space, even transforming the bathroom into a sticker gallery of her travels.
Angie's journey to van life began after serving in the military and enduring a challenging recovery from medication withdrawal. The van became her sanctuary, allowing her to heal on her terms, surrounded by nature, and rediscovering the joy and safety of the world.
For those interested in following Angie's adventures and insights into holistic mental health, she invites you to join her on social media @beinghuman RV across KZread, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. Her professional page, @ Angie Peacock MSSW, offers more on her mental health coaching, and her story is also featured in the film "Medicating Normal" on Amazon Prime and Tubi.
Angie's story is a testament to the healing power of nature, the importance of self-reliance, and the transformative impact of life on the road. Join her as she continues to explore, heal, and inspire through her unique van life journey.

Your prescription struggle resonates so deeply with me, I'm in my own battle to free myself from the shackles of prescription meds and finding my true self and true happiness again. I'm so thankful you shared that part of your story here. It was beautiful and brave and gave me immense hope and I know you're doing the same for countless others! Thank you, thank you!!!

Wow, incredible story. I can so relate. Truly remarkable you could recover so well after all the PTSD and RX. Yet, nature has been my healing agent too after 13 yrs of therapy etc for Complex PTSD. Thank god for nature and in your case you have your freedom back. So cool you made a career like that. Thanks for sharing your story ~ Rock on and oh I love love your pup. The "My Self Reliance" guy on you tube just showed a cool collapsible stair thingy for his camper van. Maybe it could work for you, no sure. Hope you can find some stairs for pup to get to bed. Take good care. Jen from Seattle

Hi first, I want to say thank you for your service and what you did for world peace I really love your van. I understand how hard it is when you have a brain injury. I had a major truck accident and 2018. I was unloading a truck with a crane And 160 kg in the back of the head and threw me under the front wheel of the truck and the truck ride the top me I want for you with all the details but in the end I’d fuse back 550mm and I had to learn to eat speak and drink again. Thank you for letting us you a little bit into your life and sharing with others. Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia 🇦🇺

I’m also a veteran who has gone through prescription drug withdrawal. It was one of the hardest things I ever did for myself. But instead of taking 14 different pill’s, multiple times a day, I now take only 5 once a day. I’ve been researching van life for about a year now. Love your rig, well thought out and well organized. I’m subscribing. Happy traveling and well being.

Love this! I’m a Marine Corps veteran myself. I’ve been in my van full time for two years now! I built it out myself, so it’s not super fancy, but it has all I need and I love it! I’m about to head west for spring/summer. I travel and play music full time, and I’m loving it.

Where are you getting your filters for your Berkey water filter? The FDA has put a kibosh on the filters for the Berkey because they contain silver in the filters and they say that isn’t safe. Now nobody can find filters for the Berkys and they’re just out the money. It’s because silver is used in all kinds of products to cut bacteria, including bedsheets, and they’re not outlawed by the FDA.

I think drs rely too heavily on pills to solve problems. I used to tell people I was perfectly healthy until I saw a dr and I've been sick ever since. But now I'm off that stuff and boy, is that liberating. It's like I missed 30% of my life because of prescription pills.
