There is a recall on certain VCI-300s that where released. Do a search for VCI-300 recall. Vestax Corporation -Object product / Serial number- DJ Controller VCI-300 - 85 F (K) 01 **** - 86 F (K) 02 **** - 87 F (K) 03 **** - G87 01 **** - G87 02 **** - G88 03 **** -Error content- The controls of the VCI-300 freezes(is disabled) during operation with ITCH when the right JOG wheel is operated.

It is true. I qualified that you need a specific sound card, and yes, it was much more annoying. It's the VCI-100 which is older than the 300. I don't know if it is compatible with Serato Itch but I'm inclined to think it is not. They have the same general layout but the VCI-100 is smaller. I was using the 100 with Traktor and an ext sound card (Audio 8) and I found it to be a very annoying setup to manage. Itch and the 300 were clear winners and took less than 5 minutes to get rolling.

they just released a new thing called the vfx1 and when u buy it u upgrade your software and it will have the effects
The 300 has an audio out and you would have to use it. There are similar models such as the VCI-100 that have no integrated audio, but those are pain in the ass in my opinion since you have no ability to cue with headphones unless you have a specific sound card that accomodates it.
Serato still works without the hardware plugged in but you only have a single player in that mode.

It only works with the midi controller, however, you can use Serato Scratch if you want to use TCV. Itch and Scratch share the same library and crates and are very similar in function. There would be no point buying this if you want to use TCV though.
