You can see why Kane and Son were the best partners. Tottenham didn't have any worldclass players except Son, but he scored more comfortably than the national team or the current Munich. Basically, two or three players can be tied up, and off-the-ball movements made defense difficult and drew attention, and because dribbling shooting links are all huge, Kane was able to focus on scoring goals in the center. He was Kane's best partner because he was not just good at dribbling but he was also a great player in goal determination. Son was a partner who offset Kane's shortcomings.

Saw on numerous occasions he has the ball either too deep or wide when he should be the one in the middle waiting for the ball and score. He wasn't even at False 9 position. Foden / Bellingham / Saka are used to fluid systems at their clubs so they can adapt but they cannot carry a player upfront who doesn't press well or constantly out of position. Both wingers and fullbacks need to penetrate deeper into the halfway line, believing in Kane. In midfield matches, penetration should take place more often, and when an opponent falls down, England must wide both sides and attract the opponent. Always build up of fullbacks, wingers and midfielders on the side to create space to target the down opponent with cutbacks. A prepared set-piece strategy should be the next best option.

Insane recency bias. Kane is objectively a top 3 striker in world football. Our other options are Watkins who hasnt impressed, and Toney who has barely started. Kane is a nailed on starter

I’m not surprised at all. English league is not the strongest one for sure. Spanish German Italian and French are much stronger and more important better for young players and development. This English Team even proofs that as the best English stars are playing abroad (Foden is an exception). There is no way they can compete with Spain Germany France or Italy. Technically they can’t stand with them, Physically possible, Tactically no, Mentally big no. Money don’t make you the best League or best Team. Every tournament shows that and the gap between the best and England is getting bigger and bigger

Alan Shearer is right, Gordon will pair well with Harry Kane upfront with Saka...but Gordon is Southgate's secret weapon for the knock-out stages where we will meet the likes of Germany and France. My fear is we haven't found a way of unlocking the defensive low-ranked teams which can unexpectedly knock out a big team and this is typical of EUROs tournament...recall that Greece in 2004 was very low ranked in that tournament but they went on to win.

Before every championship, we hear about how the English team THIS time has an extraordinary group of talented players. And every time they fall right through. I don’t think they’re up for the pressure. Also, too much emphasis is put on the coach. For national teams, the coach is more or less just an administrator.

After 2004 Rooney was crap for England. He will tell you himself. Kane is a huge part of why the team drops off and can't complete passes, he keeps dropping into midifield and doesn't put enough pressure on the backline to stretch teams. Some of us saw this years ago. Rooney shouldn't have gone to WC 2006 and Kane shouldn't be undroppable

Don’t blame Southgate !! The English players don’t want to risk getting injured and get dropped from their clubs next season. Too much money involved in transfers and salaries. They are not going to run with the ball and risk injury just so England can win the Cup. They have next season to play and that is where the big money is 💷💰£££.
