VERSATILE 936 Tractor Pulling a Krause DOMINATOR
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
In this video I am in Northern Illinois and out in the field with a NICE Versatile 936 Tractor pulling a Krause 9 shank Dominator. In the video I show the tractor inside and out then fly my drone as I run the equipment out in the field.
This is some footage I had from October 21, 2021 and just got around to editing it for my KZread Channel. I have lots of unedited video footage to go through so you never know what may pop up in future videos.

From the age when tractors were tractors and the men were proper Ag Operators, no Autosteer, Def, Foot pegs or Computer Screens marvellous footage and a real find.

@@aidencrawford3487 i would say by now it doesn't matter what age someone are. If a farm has modern equipments, it most likely need autosteer and tons of sensors with lots of wires need to wired in for each equipment. But aside from all that it pays off at the end.
Dad had a 976 Versatile, just like that one. It was a awesome tractor, reliable, efficient and a joy to run. Had too much power for the weight, it liked to power hop. Loved it. Thanks for bringing back the memory.
That is a very clean 936. I keep watching auctions for either a 976 or 946 with PTO to restore and use as a grain cart / small tillage.
The cab is quite for it's age.. they took excellent care of that tractor.
The fella that owns it really looked after it love it
Great Video Mike, what a fantastic tractor, thanks for sharing
love the old Versies, spent so many hours riding around in the old pre ford 935s back when I was a kid
Wow that cab is in mint condition
Super CLEAN Tractor for around 7,500 or So Hours! I was Shocked at How Well it pulled that 9 Shank Close Spacing Dominator with No Rear Weights, those units can be a Tough Pull. Can’t Beat the Looks on Late 80’s and 90’s Versatile & Steiger 4wd’s!

So was I but closer space chisels and rippers pull easier and this must’ve been the mixed ripper/chisel shank version so it’ll definitely be easier than the ripper only version
I use to work for a farmer and he had a Ford 946 and I enjoyed running that tractor and would enjoy running it again. Great videos keep up the good work.
Nice video MR farmhand exelente😊
Love old iron, nice tractor
Happy subscriber 😊! I'm still putting in my like 👍 and watching until the end. Thanks for sharing again.
That 936 Versy has been really taken care of ! We had an 846 ,Red and Yellow , with the blue Ford hood emblem. Then traded for a blue 9280, Then a 435, now a 485 . We have only had one major repair on our Versatiles since 1987- we pulled the12 speed trans out of our 485 and had to replace the Mid range gear cluster...
I really like the look of the older Versatiles. Looked like fun to drive one.
That IS really nice, especially inside! I did see the chain, but wasn't going to bring it up. I mentioned the same thing on another channel one time and everybody started jumping on me for mentioning it LOL
great video I went to canada on a ffa trip in 1985 watched them build them now i own a 1988 model 936 and a 1991 model 946 great simple tractors I farm in minnesota
.. love the look with the stack out front...!!!
That 936 looks very good, it is a nice powerhouse😁💪 Thanks for the video👍👍
Gota love simple controls on this
That Tractor Looks Great.
Nice Tractor !!!
That is one good looking tractor & disc. Looks mint
good looking rig
That tractor sounds good!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Great video, as always, I love being a subscriber to your channel. For what it's worth, this is imho the best video you have shared to date, ever. We've had exclusively Versatile 4WD's on our farm since 1970, before I was born, though we haven't had a Des. 6 Versatile on our farm for 20 years now. I spent innumerable hours on a Versatile colored 976 haha. It was so very great the way you offered a detailed description and view of the interior of the cab before setting out, and your description throughout the video makes this video your best ever, imho. If any manufacturer ever made a "bulletproof" tractor, it would be Versatile's 835, 855, 875, 895 (which we still repaint and run on our farm to this day), and the Des. 6 Series shown here. Hello to you and all reading this from this southern Alberta farmer.
Hello! Old faithful giant...
Very nice tracktor❤❤
Great vídeo Mike.
Nice machine.

Good video.
That is some pretty good flying! Keep up the great work 👍
I like Mike less videos on KZread from the imperial county California 👍👍🖐️🇺🇲
You did a good job of flying the drone and steering the tractor at the same time 👍Regards from Down Under.
Hey Mike I am from west Manchester ohio love your videos I work for harder farms that you did a video a couple of years ago
Thank you
.......................... go with style go versatile .........................

👍
Auto steer is nice and has advantages. But i think that every operater should be able to run it with out it and not have to have it to be able to hold a straight line. You did a fine job of keeping a straight line and flying the drone at the same time. Impressive. Thanks for all the great videos brother.

Thanks, I agree of course when I started out there was no such thing has auto steer. Pick something in the distance and drive towards it to make your first line and off you go. Then of course you may get a curve and have to do a correction pass to straighten it back up. But it was hard not to overlap without guidance when working ground. At least for me and anyone who said they were not overlapping was probably fibbing.
Kind of hard to tell by the video on my phone but by the smoke coming out of the stack she looks like she might be ready for an overhaul Looks like maybe one cylinder starting to go bad But I may be wrong

Yes I noticed the white smoke too. I don't think the engine has been overhauled since this was recorded.
Nice, and no stupid Def !
I wonder if those gauges are backlit so you can see them better in situations such as working or driving the tractor from one field to another at night?
Love my 936. They only put Ford emblems on red models in 88'
Great video Mike, I won’t lie I kinda miss the Versatile tractors on here. What does the Designation 6 mean?
No more hours, tack quit working! But good video!
Could you do a video about the small square bails accumulator the red one the harder farms has one and I want to learn about it
Beautiful Inside and Out! So the Ford Emblem, did they Make a 936 Blue? When did Ford buy and sell Versatile?
@farmhandmike
Жыл бұрын
I don't believe there was ever a blue 936 but there was a blue 946 which I think replaced the 936. It's also my understanding the Ford logo was only on the 936 on the last year of production so I'm guessing Ford bought Versatile in 1988 or so.

Try WMS Ohio out of Upper Sandusky Ohio or Mayer Farm Equipment in Jeffersonville Ohio. Both our Versatile dealers in the central Ohio area.

I'm still with Deutz Fahr. I filmed this video in 2021 and this dealer sells both Versatile and Deutz Fahr. Going forward I will still be doing videos with Versatile tractors if it works out. My channel doesn't discriminate against any brands of equipment lol. Also I work for Power Farming Group (PFG) who is the Deutz Fahr distributor in the USA with an office in Atlanta Georgia. PFG's home base is in New Zealand and they are the Deutz Fahr and Versatile distributor in New Zealand and Australia. They also carry many other lines of equipment in that part of the world so I still have some ties to the Versatile brand.

@@farmhandmike we need a honest Deutz tractor dealer in Nw iowa. We have vans implement hull iowa. Farmers here don’t like to get reemed . We had a great dealer in carmel iowa franken implement and service. They sold a lot of duetz tractors till Agco merger. So farmers here are wanting franken implement and service be dealers and offer great service.
