@@mikebeon2539 I'll speak about my own age, I was born in 1980 and was there for the intro of the very first Street Fighter II. Among the vast majority of fans in terms of popularity to use, Dhalsim was always last, then E. Honda and then Zangief, which was where this concept of a bottom tier character being deadly first started to develop (imo). This was well be for juggling, 'normals' or (w/e) etc. holding any weight against a Dragon punch or flash kick. Plus they just weren't all that cool looking to play with. They were looked as filler characters by the players in most circles and were often the butt of jokes. Not agism but I can see how this is hard to picture, with every character in a fighting game mattering nowadays. Not everyone mattered to players back then and those characters were generally picked by savants, having spent the necessary time to make them deadly.

Agree. I've always liked Dhalsim and was determined to use him. Got better and better with him and would irritate people when I would beat them with him, because he was supposed to be the sorriest character. He's always been slow moving and his fire and teleports have to be timed just right.

@@davidtaylor1164 Yeah I wonder if the developers knew (and I'm guessing they did) how deadly he really is. The teleportation wasn't in the original SFII so when it was added it changed everything. Plus it made sense for the character which was great.
