Thanks! Rare to get one in this shape now. It is amazing what the inside bottom of cabinet can tell you about the life of these games.

Congrats on a nice Space Duel pickup. This cabinet looks like it was built 10 years ago. Definitely a keeper 👍.

@@jacklick Wonder if it was home use only... Even the label on the front lower panel looks intact.

4:01 It looks like these cutouts are there, so you can fit the marquee light closer to the top of the cabinet. They match these small mounting pieces of wood in the corners. I guess you don't want this thing with speakers to be just laying there, so maybe you don't pass as much vibration to the glass. Maybe try asking on KLOV how people have this piece mounted from the factory? You don't want the speakers to be too far from the grill as well, but having them close to your ears is not good either :). Hopefully everyone doesn't have it the same as you (slacker worker at the factory?) lol.

Every atari speaker shelf I have seen (see my Gravitar cabinet) were flat and were screwed in. Probably just missed at the factory. Need to find that guy.

8:59 Maybe it's just dirt, but that white cable going to the cage looks kinda blackened. I hope you have a good connection there.

It's crazy that Space Duel came out in 1980... just a year after Asteroids.

@@jacklick 12:45 Look at that copyright date ;). Usually they have the date of release (at least approximately). Googling it I see it says February 1982, though. Maybe they had a delay or decided to port it to a color screen?

@@jacklick Found some info: "When Asteroids Deluxe did not sell well, this game was taken off the shelf and released to moderate success." ...so they had it sitting "on the shelf" for a year or two.
