just bought one today and was confused by instructions for emptying the dirty water but your video has sorted this by confirming the instruction booklet does not match the product. Thnx

Hi John ...yes must be a generic instruction manual for a few different models...I think I prefer the method with the clips as it will poor out quicker than a screw lid and it's pretty easy to clean.

Thanks Tom, am wondering how to get the nozzle off to clean it? There is no clip on this model like the newer ones. Thanks

How can we clean the roller housing which attracts fibre and dog hairs? Some models unclip, but this does not.

Hi M Yes you have to unscew the screws on the assembly to fully remove the rollers if the are badly clogged. I just pull hairs etc out or cut with a sharp scalpel ....but yes it would be easier if it just unclipped. It's all still working great though ...I think they are in Lidl again tomorrow (23-2-23) for £99.99 and it's a later model with 2.4m stretch hose for cleaning car etc.

@@TomsManShed Thank you, I had been intouch via vax customer support re this issue and model . Whilst it is true other models do have a lift off front for cleaning this one does not. They recommend lifting the dirty water tank off and pour water down the pipe onto the roller houseing. Then use a very small bottle brush for blind areas. We have a Russell Hobbs carpet cleaner and I have just taken the screws out to gain access to the dribble bar which was not working. I managed to take out the scrub brush, and the dribble bar to clean along with the filters eventually reassembleing, this proving to be a complete nightmare.

You know when you take out the clean water tank, theres a small black rubber washer on the machine, should that be not able to move, my friend has one and it seems to have fallen out when they took out the water tank, or does it it just sit in position there..

Hi Professor B....I have just looked at mine and there is a cone shaped rubber seal that surrounds the central probe that pushes up against the valve in the clean water tank. This cone shaped seal is a tight fit in the top of the machine but would come out if pulled strongly ......it is a very firm fit however and shouldn't come out accidentally...not sure if this is what you mean as its quite large at 2.5 cm diameter and more of a special shaped seal than a washer.

@@TomsManShed Hi tom yes its cone shaped rubber seal , when my friend took out the tank this bit just fell out, and i wants sure if it was attached to the clean water tank or the machine, but after looking at your video its attached to the machine, so it looks as though that is faulty, unless theres a way to connect it again, thats one item ruled out anyway getting a new clean water tank, thanks for getting back so quick,is there awake y to fix it in again.

Hi Professor...not sure re fixing it....it appears to be just pushed in and held by a lip but without pulling mine out and maybe damaging it I am not sure how it is attached. Does there look like there is a 'groove' in it? if so you may just need to push it in place with a screwdriver or something till the first ridge is inserted....that's how these sort of things usually mount Without seeing it though and knowing how it fits there is not much I could advise.

No mine didn't come with any attachments...just what you see in the vid...there might be a version now with attachments but not this one from 2 years ago

Hi Najor...have you checked the slot that it sucks the water up isn't blocked...or the filter on the float in the waste container.? I always squirt water up the slot after each use as shown in the vid ....other than this without seeing it I don't know

Remove the dirty water tank and you will see a mesh filter which may be blocked,clean it well and that was the problem on my cleaner,it sucks up water now.
