You make a lot of good points about the future collectability of modern machines. I think becasue of how disposable these are and how few spares are already around I just can't see many machines like this surviving. But I do think future collectors will look on these fondly, since I bet in 20 years most vacs will be cordless or robotic. I look at vacs from the early 2000's fondly since I grew up with them, even if they are crap.

Same here! I've got a 2000's vac to film up that I got the other day, and I'm very excited by it, mainly because it's from the era I first started paying attention to vacuums
Imagine using that as one of your monthly drivers...
There might end up being someone who grew up with one and having fond memories of it, then looking to find one when they're older like me and the Electrolux Z1460. I will likely be keeping my Vax Mach 8 (C88-M8-B) as it is the first one I fully owned, even though it has it's issues.
You really did a job on the clean up, great vid as always handsome, but the Vac would be at its best, recycled and made into plastic party cups 😂😂😂.

How do u get the plastic off to empty it
i havw U88 P2 model. on/off switch broken. how to rewire new, but not the same,switch. heelp

Assuming you can strip the machine down to get to the switch it'll just be Live flex wire to the switch and neutral blue to the neutral wire on the vacuum.

No the paper is washable my childminder had one and she washed the filter
