Quick, compact and light
The Vax Compact Power is great for cleaning high traffic areas and small spaces. Its Aqua Spin brush bar easily tackles pet messes and household stains, leaving your carpets looking, feeling and smelling like new.
It's twin tanks ensure clean and dirty water are kept separate, meaning you will only ever put clean water and solution into your carpets. At under 6 kilograms the Vax Compact Power is our lightest carpet washer yet, making it easy to carry and manoeuvre around the home. Its small compact design means it is perfect for reaching into smaller areas and its narrow floor head allows you to get into tight spaces around the home, whilst also being easy to store.
This carpet washer is embedded with antimicrobial treatment, a more hygienic way to clean your carpets* Comes complete with Vax Platinum solution, our best ever cleaning solution!

It does what it says in the box. Cleans my one bedroom apartment with about four refills of the clean water tank, and two or three empties of the dirty tank (neither of which take a lot of time or effort). Makes the flat smell really nice and cleaning it isn’t THAT bad. My carpet dries out in about six hours. There are definitely going to be better, more heavy duty cleavers out there, but I can’t complain for the price.

I just got this carpet cleaner and so far I’m loving it. I go over my area several times and even go over it without use of water tank to extract more water. I’m using this in place of my much bigger, heavier and much louder Hoover Steam cleaner that is 18 years old. I have 5 cats and one older dog with bladder control issues so I was steam cleaning every other day. This vacuum does very well, just wish the dirty water tank emptied from the top so it would empty easier.

I've just done my carpet a week ago with the Carpet Doctor and 6 months ago with the Bissell. The Bissell was great but wasn't the best right into the corners but it does have an attachment hose for hard to reach places, Rug Doctor is similar but this little Vax is way better and easier to use for the average household 😁👌

I have a guide dog with very sensitive stomach and is sometimes sick if hes picked something up when out and about, so I needed help and this vax sounds perfect. Thank you for the information about the blind stop. Thank you fr the advice about the cleaning the dirty water tank I use bio washing powder because I love the smell of the one I use as well as it being a great washing powder I am going to use a dehumidifier to help dry the carpet they are supposed to dry wet carpet.

Thanks ibaisaic for the demo. I noticed this picking up of water with the vax rapide also. I think the header tank ( collector of water) is not heavy enough as when I experimented putting extra weight on at the front I did get a lot better suction resulting in almost three quarters of the tank full. I reckon we should invent a new header and earn millions 👍👍👍

I just went back a forward after the clean water was empty and picked up as much as I could emptying the dirty water and doing again until I seen no more water pick up. My carpet dried very quick after. I am very happy with this product. Just need patience to be able to do/use it efficiently.

Just got one today and on first usage - about 2 square metres - pressed the trigger going forward and released the trigger on reverse etc.. For such a small area, the clean water bottle seemed to have emptied too quickly(?) Anyway, I emptied the dirty water tank, refilled the clean water bottle and, on refitting it, noticed that the bottle was emptying by gravity and pooling on my carpet! I can't think what's wrong? Any ideas?

It seems to me that all carpet cleaner are a bit cheap, plastic style, very bad to clean afterwards, loud at use and the brush roll is nearly not removable. I got a Bissel carpet cleaner. I think it's the same model you already have tested on your channel. I like the cleaning results, but I hate to clean the machine afterwards. You have to use tools for the primitive and tiny screws that are directly placed in the plastic. No threads are used. It is a matter of time until it will break

Hello, The first time I used my vax carpet washer I was impressed and had no problems. I then lost the black cap for the clean water tank. I have now received a new one from Vax, but when I assembled the Vax this time, there was water all over the kitchen floor (I had screwed in the cap and the water/solution was up to the line) coming from somewhere. However I wheeled the vax into the lounge and started to clean, the same carpet as previously. It cleaned as the time before, but last time I had to fill the clean water tank about 3 times and empty the dirty one twice. This time I only used half the clean water and there was very little water in the dirty tank. The carpet's pile was restored and slightly damp so I know there was water going through, and warm air drying. On returning the vax to the kitchen to dismantle and clean, again there was leaking from it in the stand up position. Any ideas please........

Fantastic machine for cleaning, gives you amazing results. Cheap compared to other carpet washers. The issue is you need around 20 minutes to clean it, moreover, you need to fill the tank with water 5 times only to clean one small carpet, as the tank run out of water very very quick. It's only for carpets, not for upholstery. I don't recommend it.

Used for first time and I was impressed with the clean. Takes about 3 fill-ups with solution/water to clean a 4 x 4 mtr carpet. Left the carpet quite dry but best to leave overnight. I didn't like having to remove screws to clean brush head, so cleaned manually rotating the bar and removing bits by hand and damp cloth. Also trying to find how the handle is removed after cleaning to return to it's box for storage. All in all, would recommend at the reduced price of £90.99!

Oh so u sold it thinking or knowing there was something wrong with it. lol... Well I hope whoever u sold it to doesnt remember your address if it blows up and burns their house to the ground !! .. In reality this is the 3rd machine of this type ive owned. ( first Vax) Both my older upright carpet washers of different makes went wrong in exactly the same way. BOTH machines had water and fluff stuck in the motors that caused them to burned out and replacements were impossible to find. THIS cheap machine actually does have a slightly better motor filter than my previous machines .....SLIGHTLY ... My original Vax - Dalek type from the late 1990s actually still works but its so awkward to use compared to this type of upright machine. @@ibaisaic

  • @ibaisaic

I would go over the carpet a maximum of four times with the solution flowing followed by multiple passes to extract as much dirty water as possible. Probably best not to overwet and clean with two wet passes and dry passes until no more water is visible coming up the clear nozzle. When the carpet has dried, you can go over it again followed by a rinse using water alone.

What puts me off using these is the cost of the cleaning solution. Its like a desktop printer, they dont cost that much to buy the machine itself, but when you need the consumables, ie, the ink, they absolutely pull your pants down with the prices for ink cartridges. Similarly, the carpet washer itself may be a reasonable price, but when the solution is 20 - 30 quid a bottle, it becomes very expensive, very quickly to use them if you want to clean several rooms. I have a Bissell carpet washer that I have used about 4 times since new, but now it stays in the cupboard, never used, as I just refuse to pay the earth for solution, which I dont really find makes my carpets that clean anyway, as when they dry, most of the marks come back to sight again.

U can use 1001 from pound land, but if corse that would make the guarantee invalid, so maybe use their cleaner till the guarantee runs out x

You can use any laundry detergent in it, you don’t HAVE to buy a specialised carpet cleaner solution in it. Some people use a vinegar/water solution!

Likely either an external fuse (on plug) or a thermal fuse (internal) blown

I do bought this. My question is can I do dry cleaning without filling up the water. As I have small children who keep throwing snacks on the floor and I don't want to use it water every day. I want to use with water weekly once.

No, this machine is designed to be used with water all the time, it cannot be used as a conventional vacuum cleaner.

It’s a good carpet cleaner but so hard to keep clean - seems very surprising that VAX have made it like that

When you take your clothes out the washing machine will it come out completely dry nope it has to dry out

Yes, but some washing machines spin clothes faster leaving them drier and some carpet washers leave the carpet drier due to better suction. This Vax isn’t very good at removing the solution from the carpet compared to others I’ve used.

Too many compromises with the brush and tank

The one thing I found totally frustrating was - the instruction booklet supplied. The instructions were all printed in grey with some of the "Important" instructions printed in grey ON A GREY BACKGROUND. Making them totally useless even in good light. They may as well be printed in Chinese they were so difficult to read. Also in order to clean the brushes you have to remove 6 (yes six) cross headed screws before you can remove the brushbar from the belt and remove it from the machine. Not a very practical design. Think carefully before you purchase this machine especially if you are a pensioner and not very handy with tools.

Previous tenants of my rental were absolutely filthy. Tried this out and was horrified at the filthy sand, dirt and dog hair it pulled from the thick pile carpet. Never would own a dog and have carpets, ever! That said, the machine insanely loud and cleaning afterwards is a nightmare. Would also not recommend.

Blowing up is just one of the fault of Vax products, which is why I no longer buy them to test. I’ve just had to tape up the hose of a Vax Spot washer due to it splitting.

Your video was interesting but at the end of the video putting the dirty water in the clean tank is the worst idea you could have. In 5 seconds I had already 2 better options to compare the amount of clean water used with the amount of dirty water you got back. Otherwise thanks for your work
