Vauxhall Insignia changing the GLOW PLUGS : 4k Widescreen

I show how to change the glow plugs on a 2016 Diesel Vauxhall Insignia. All in real time except for glow plug three which is speeded up.
Be careful when you search for glow plugs you buy the correct ones for your car engine.
My car has a B20DTH engine. NGK do not do Glow plugs for this engine.
The Euro Car Parts glow plugs are genuine, they have a GM number on them.
GM55578336.
On my car since I have fitted these plugs the Service warning has gone, I have not deleted it, the car has done it itself.
Here is a link on how to test a glow plug with a multimeter. • How to test which is t...

very helpful video. I thought I bought a torque wrench that was too big, but I see you are using the same size. So all I have to do now is buy an extended 10mm socket.

My 2015 1.6 diesel Astras needs a glow plug but mine being a low emission engine because a do not pay road tax but each plug has pressure sensors on the end they cost £180 each which works out at a few years road tax my previous vw 1.4 TDI in 120.000 miles only had a battery after 12y and no other engine parts it did have two springs and tyres brake pads but no front disc replacement because my garage told me they were ok but it was going to need cam belt charging and the clutch bearing was getting noisy and the shocks were weak so I tried for the Astra which a lot smoother with the extra cylinder and also delivering more mpg but i wish now I had got a VW

You never buy any parts from Vauxhall they are a rip off. Europarts and Ebay are great for genuine parts.

just changed glow plugs on a 2007 Vectra 1.9 diesel with 126000 miles. just spayed WD40 the night before warmed engine and used 1/4 drive ratchet with 9mm deep socket. no torque wrench used and took about45 mins. easy.

The reason you have the torque wrench is you set it so you do not use so much force to remove the glow plug that you strip the thread. A lot have done this. I show the safest way. I was spraying WD40 into the Glowplugs for a week. I would rather be safe than sorry. The Torque wrench makes sure you do not overtighten the plug. It is important with all the contraction and expansion due to the engine getting hot and cold. You may get away with it.

Hello Paul, Great video mate, good tip with the WD40 going to start spraying mine tomorrow, I don't know what engine I have but will check that before I commence work, I did get plugs from euro car parts (Bosch 266) I don't have a fault with the plugs, just want to change them as the vehicle has 65'000 on the clock and there is no record in the service history. PS I'm only down the road from you in Infield, small world 🌎

Hi Paul thanks for your great advice on the removal of the Glow plugs, I’m not a mechanic, and because of the massive expense at Vauxhall I’m going to change out the glow plugs on my 2012 Vauxhall insignia. Can you remember the cost of the plugs for the set. Thanks once again for an in-depth explanation on how to change the glow plugs out 👍🏻

What I can remember is a bought them from Europarts at a fraction of what Vauxhall wanted to charge, what I also remember is a company was selling them in a sale for 2/3's of what I paid at Europarts. It is not as hard as people make out. Just make sure you squirt WD 40 where the plugs go in for a week before you pull them.

I d not know you, or what your mechanical abliitys are, or what tools you own. It is important to have the right tools. A Torque wrench is a much. As in the video you can see why. If your a petite lady say around 5 ft 3 inch then it maybe an issue reaching into the engine. My view, if you have doubts pay someone to do it. @@deiselthebelgianmalinois8387
