Northern Railway has started work for the redevelopment of Ghaziabad railway station, for which Rs 337 crore the redevelopment includes a new two-floor station building as well as a basement. The building would be at the city side as well as the rear side Vijay Nagar. An eight-metre-wide foot overbridge would be built to ensure better connectivity,has been sanctioned.Construction has started for the station buildings. We will build a quarter and a training hostel. Along with that, the designs for the foot overbridge and concourse are being made.72-metre-wide would be built. Also, a roof which would cover the entire platform.There are also provisions for rainwater harvesting, sewage treatment plants, water storage structures and underground tanks.
Spread across 1.5 lakh sqm, the Ghaziabad station sees the movement of 200 trains daily and is an important station on the Delhi-Howrah line with a footfall of around 50,000 people every day.The redevelopment plan is part of the Indian Railways Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, aimed at equipping its 1,308 stations with contemporary amenities to cater to the diverse needs of the wide array of passengers.
Ghaziabad Junction railway station (station code:- GZB) is on the Kanpur-Delhi section of Howrah-Delhi main line, Howrah-Gaya-Delhi line and New Delhi-Bareilly-Lucknow line. It is located in Ghaziabad district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It serves Ghaziabad.
Through trains started running on the East Indian Railway Company's Howrah-Delhi line in 1866.
The railway line between Meerut and Delhi was constructed in 1864.[citation needed]
The Scinde, Punjab & Delhi Railway completed the 483-kilometre-long (300 mi) Amritsar-Ambala-Saharanpur-Ghaziabad line in 1870 connecting Multan (now in Pakistan) with Delhi.
The Ghaziabad-Moradabad link was established by Oudh and Rohilkhand Railway in 1900.
Electrification-
The Tundla-Aligarh-Ghaziabad sector was electrified in 1975-76, and the Ghaziabad-Nizamuddin-New Delhi-Delhi sector in 1976-77,
The 140-kilometre long (87 mi) Ghaziabad-Moradabad line was completely electrified in January 2016. The Ghaziabad-Meerut-Muzaffarnagar-Saharanpur-Roorkee-Haridwar line is also open to electric trains with effect from March 2016.
Local electric trains
Local electric trains are available regularly from Ghaziabad for stations in the National Capital Region. Distance: New Delhi (26 km), Old Delhi (20 km), Hazrat Nizamuddin (23 km), Anand Vihar Terminal (13 km).
List of local trains-
Local trains which run on a regular interval are EMUs, MEMUs, Passengers. Local trains start in the early morning and run till midnight.
Amenities-
Amenities for passengers at Ghaziabad include: waiting rooms, escalators, water coolers, automated teller machines, pure vegetarian restaurants, refreshment rooms, book stall, computerized reservation office, and telephone booths.
Electric Loco Shed-
The Ghaziabad electric locomotive shed serves the Delhi area. It houses and maintains India's fastest locomotives which are mostly used in the Rajdhani, the Shatabdi and the Duronto Expresses. It stores 3 phase locomotives like WAP-5 & WAP-7 locomotives.
It is currently holds 100+ WAP-5 locomotives and 150+ WAP-7 locomotives.

    Very good and refreshing video. Ghaziabad station should have been remodelled much earlier. The present condition of the station is not good. Platforms are very crowdy and congested, no ramp for elderly people and heavy luggage, no level entry even to the first or last platforms. Let us hope they will provide ample number of lifts and escalaters for elderly people on all the platforms. Your videos are really very good, and the commentary is superb. Please keep it up.
