Variety in Focus: Chenin Blanc with Chris Martin DipWSET

Grown throughout the world, Chenin Blanc is an incredibly robust grape that can grow in the cool climate of the Loire or the hot climate of the Central Valley, California. It can be made in a variety of styles: dry or sweet, oaked or unoaked, still or sparkling, simple or complex. During this one hour webinar, Chris Martin DipWSET will take you around the world exploring how this exciting grape expresses itself in different climates. He'll look at the characteristics of the grape and the variety of styles that are produced in the main areas of production. He'll also take a look at Chenin Blanc being grown in some areas of the world that you might not even know make wine!

Wonderful enthusiasm for such a sidelined grape. Good chenin has such great QPR, what a shame such few people reach for it these days.

Excellent talk which filled in lots of gaps for WSET 3 prep. I do wish it would be easier to determine how much sugar there is in Vouvray. Could you say if abv is less than 13%, the wine would have residual sugar. On minor pronunciation point: Steen is pronounced as “stain” in Afrikaans
