Thanks for the air test Papa. Depth is important to me when metal detecting. I’ll keep using my 440 for now. 👍🏼I’ve been pleased with the depth and discrimination so far.

Can't go wrong with the Vanquish great detector!!!

You're testing is very interesting but very different from mine. I'm honestly thinking there's something wrong with your machine. I compared the xtp to my simplex ultra and e-track in air and ground testing. My Xterra pro in all metal in field 2 will hit dimes all day at 9 in plus in the air tests and strangely hits my 10-in buried dime with no problem. As a matter of fact it hit every coin that I buried that the e-trac and simplex ultra also were able to hit. But interestingly I also tested someone else's xtp when it first was released and it's depth was lower than my other machines at that time. The machine that I have now is a later production date and is noticeably different. This is just my experience but something's definitely wrong with that machine you're using. Maybe they made some minor changes in the last few months who knows but I love mine.

Two problems I can see which will make a difference in the distance you are getting. The vanquish coil was tilting forwards and the x terra was tilting back and the height from the table you waved the targets was more to the middle of the vanquish and you dropped as you got more distance from the coil which would keep it in line with the vanquish while it would take it out of line with the centre of the coil of the x terra

And you can see what happens with the Vanquish and also when it fails to keep the Numbers but still has a tone And I know that it's the limit of the Detector and Any Detector Made and you may have a great Signal from the target but when it keeps the number steady and then the numbers are starting to not show up then that's it's limit of recognition of the target and we could only see the Vanquish and Not the X-Terra Pro and I know that he's going to be doing another test from the last message that I have gotten from him.....

There is no problem there, a centimeter here and there does not matter on DD coils.

Your test reminds me of my Nox 600 Bill. It found stuff but I always thought it wasn't going deep enough. Then when I fell and broke the stock coil, I ordered a replacement and WOW the different was night and day. I gained about 2 to 3 inches in depth wit the new 11in coil. After that I knew I had a defective coil right from the factory. I'll be that X-Terra has a bad coil as well. Still brother very well done and thorough test.

Great test and review Bill. I had the Xterra pro and decided to sell it. I have an equinox 800 and dont know why i even bought an xterra. The 800 has the same options and more. I did find a George Washington mourning flat button from 1799 with the xterra. For the money the xterra pro is decent for water hunting. An xterra pro vs Simplex would be interesting. I really think thats why Minelab came out with xterra pro.

No problems with the Vanquish Holding true to tone and Vdi even with all the Emi it was taking in. The Xterra Pro well just needs Minelabs Love to get it working well. Thanks For sharing. I am sticking with the 600 and 540 while I am still trying to get use to the 700.. Happy Hunting . Peace

The exterra pro does have a depth issue . In all the tests I've done it is about 1/2 in off the Vanquish 540 (which oddly goes a little deeper than a equinox 800) I will be happy to pay the $265 for the exterra pro compared to the $580 for the vanquish 540 or $900 for the eq' 800

What was the sensitivity set at on the X-Terra Pro? I noticed that it was maxed out on the Vanquish. You didn’t show the screen on the X-Terra. I have the 540 and the X-Terra. I do like the multiple frequencies on the Vanquish and I prefer the build quality of the X-Terra.

Yeah, Vanquish sounded maxed out. Xterra? That's whyI like Calabash Digger video's as he shows everything without any editing :) His Xterra pro was hitting a 10" dime four inches above the ground. Hmm

How do you find anything in all metal mode with all the chatter? Yes you get deeper in all metal, but how do you sort out the good stuff from trash? All metal maybe would be good in an area with no trash. But where do you find such a place with no trash? I'm guessing in an open field far away from human activity?

That was a great air test Bill. You are giving the xterra pro a chance to show her stuff but seems to fall low, in this test anyways. As you know I own a simplex but really enjoyed watching this 😊

Well if you have the Simplex + ???.. It's on the Notka Macro Product's Website and They have already Discontinued it and No MORE Updates for it and I Had the Simplex + and I have traded it up for the Equinox 600 and it's ALOT too learn.....

No sure what you call all metal mode on a xterra pro mine will pick up a Australian 5cent peice at 10inchs which I believe is smaller then a dime in park mode 10khz

Great test! 👍 Too bad the XTerra falls short of the Vanquish but is it supposed to be the lower end one? A comparison with the Simplex would be interesting.

Yes it's very interesting to not show the X-Terra Pro and Yet you showed the Vanquish Numbers and the coil of the Vanquish is pointed Down and the X-Terra Pro it's pointing upwards and Then your not showing the X-Terra Pro numbers which is still a mystery of Why you didn't let us see it and you could of just taken out the 4 screw's and then take it off the shaft and let us decide BUT OHH WELL I'M STILL A SUCCESSFUL X-TERRA PRO OWNER AND I KNOW THAT IT'S VERY CAPABLE OF FINDING DEEP TARGETS AND I ONLY HAVE IT AT 12 SENSITIVITY AND I ALSO HAVE THE EQUINOX 600 AND I PREFER THE XTERRA PRO INSTEAD OF THE EQUINOX.....

I have been successful with both was only showing depth which the vanquish beat the xferra pro hands down I can hit a quarter at 13/14 inches with Vanquish xterra pro doesn't come close

@@PAPAROUSwhatsinthedirt But Again you only was showing the Vanquish Numbers and nothing else about what the X-Terra Pro is able to do 🤔🤔 and you could possibly have a Dirt powder in the Coil of the X-Terra Pro and that will hurt your test and Depth of targets and also you said that the Vanquish is maxed out AND I see that it was and that We can hear, the feedback but the X-Terra Pro you don't hear anything and See what the numbers are for us to get a better idea of what the X-Terra Pro can do and I also have the X-Terra Pro and I have it on 12 Sensitivity and the only reason why is that I don't want to be digging up ALOT of 12 inches deep Holes and deeper At the Start and I have found enough in the 6-8 range and just having it on 12 Sensitivity to keep me busy enough..... And you Never Showing the X-Terra Pro Settings like that you did for the Vanquish 🤔🤔🤔🤔....

To be fair I will do the test again also i do like the Xterra for one is waterproof Vanquish isn't also I believe it would do much better at the beach as vanquish has no beach mode. I do know Xterra in highly minerailised soil/iron does not do well.

@@PAPAROUSwhatsinthedirt Then you should be able to take the Coil Cover Off and clean the Coil and get the Interference of not hitting the targets like that you say that it's not capable of doing but WHY not show both Faces of the Detector's when you did the test, ?? Is there Something that is Suspect?????? 🤔🤔🤔🤔 And possibly you just need to take the Coil Cover Off and get it cleaned and you will be surprised on how much stuff is there And it's a Very Tight cover to get Off.... and just snaps back on...

I'm just really not impressed with the Xterra, Bill. I think it was rushed out the door to try to beat the Simplex. The Vanquish is the better machine, in my opinion.❤

But the Simplex + Was already out and on the Discontinued Detector List before the Minelab X-TERRA Pro Soon was out and I have Now the X-Terra Pro and I have noticed that the Simplex Ultra is the same program that the original Simplex + is except for the additional 4 Tone and the 99 Tone but what is the program that it's working with and thru and I still see the Park and field programs but it looks confusing and Why is it there At the top and not in the volume Area and I use to have the Simplex + and it's a good detector but I was having EMI Problem's that wouldn't shut up until I shut it off and A few places that I was doing the frequency shift and that didn't help with some places but I have since Traded the Simplex for a Equinox 600 and having 19 channels for noise cancel Is better than the 3 channels of frequency shift of the Simplex lineup and I have also noticed that the Simplex Ultra and the all metal mode is still a Single Threshold Tone without any kind of discrimination and the X-Terra Pro and it's All Metal Mode I can have 2 Tone 5 Tone All Tone's And Depth Tone And still have the All Metal Mode on and the discrimination of the Targets and that falls short of the Simplex New Simplex Lineup...... and he may have ALOT of dirt in the Coil Cover that could possibly be the problem and the X-Terra it's pointing down and the Vanquish is pointing upwards and he said that he is going to make another video of the test......

@@carolrice2063 Carol even with a bad coil I like the machine now I'm sure I will like it more. I have never beach or water hunted and that's why I bought it. Also the fact that I have the Vanquish 440 and it is an awesome detector. I AM SOLD ON MINELAB!
