You are one of the guys who tell the truth and not praise certain manufacturers... this is a brilliant comparison ! I own the Quest Q30 and I must say its very good , haven't test the Xterra Pro yet , i'm concerned about the jumping VDI and Tones , what do you say , will they be fixing that anytime soon with an update ?

I have both. Xterra pro and Q30. And I have about the same time on each. I’m a park coin hunter in the US. Both are equally great matches. I perched the Quest Q30 and the x5. Because you’re videos was impressive. Id recommend Quest detectors over most. Brands. 👍

I tested the x10pro and really enjoyed it. Was tickled when a local dealer got the Quest brand in my region. ❤

Correct me if I am wrong, but regarding the depth test, seems to me the quest had a smaller coil, which would put them on even footing in depth.

I would like to ask does the quest x10 pro have the same depth as the quest30?

Excellent video, I love my Quest Q30+ , thanks for the reviews .Took mine last year back home Portugal, and went straight with her to the local beaches. Many hours of fun and some rings and loads of spendables . Take care my friend.

Great unbiased comparison ... i mean u could have had a click bait title like "Minelabs new quest 30 killer" .. or "This new machine is a monster (insert blurry thumbnail)", etc etc ... but to your credit, nice simple clear review. I am currently using a Vanquish 540, and am going to update to the Quest V80 when its released.

I hope you checked that "lump of dirty old iron" meteorites often ware this disguise after spending decades or even hundreds of years in the ground. I have 9 finds under my belt now 2 of which where on my own estate which is quite a score for a UK spacerock hunter.

Great video comparison Kris 👍. I've got the Q30+, had it for 6 months and used it probably 3 times as its a backup to my nox800. it's a great little machine and love how it has very little wobble in the lower stem. it's very chatty in 4 tones but in 3 tones its better. as a minelab fan boy, I've looked into getting the xterra pro, but what put me off was that the nox800 headphones won't won on it. so for anyone thinking of getting a Q30/Q30+, it's a great machine for the money 👍

hope you won't mind me adding to your comment Jason, the new Equinox models 700 and 900 work with the improved headset as you would expect with newer tech as like the X Terra Pro is new Tech, personally i got rid of my old 800 and now using the 900 and as such the Headset works with the X Terra ML 85s and also work with the manticore.

God knows. Their information and communication is horrible. Not sure it’s even the same company at this stage 🤷‍♂️

Thanks for the video. I'm in America so I have no dog in this fight just wanted to add my 2 cents. You sound like Quest is a major manufacturer, but while I think I've heard the name, I know of no one that uses one. I have used Minelabs on and off for many years. I've been swinging a detector for over 40 years. Is Quest a new brand?

Hi! Quest used to be called Deteknix, but rebranded into Quest, and started again from the bottom up. So yes, a new-ish company, that used to be branded different. Based in California 👍🏻

@@raybrock5917 Parts. Put together in America and Holland. All component parts on all brands of detectors are now made by the Chinese. There’s literally not one company that doesn’t outsource smaller components (and sometimes the whole detector) to the Chinese.

Depth vs seperation + ground stability then. That's a difficult one. It depend i guess on your preference. But it's also early days, you may see more stability as the detector get's updated.

Excellent video as always. I used the Q30 for about 12 months and it was always great on the beach. Definitely better than the X-TERRA PRO in that regard. I bought the X-TERRA PRO as soon as it was released. Definitely a lot of machines for the money but it is not without issues. It is locked into Minelab's own ML85 headphones and they are still not available. And given that the price when they are available will be £120 or so that really bumps the price of the XTP as a package too high. The new Quest Q35 which is due in September sells for €359 and includes wireless headphones. There have also been problems with those membrane buttons on the XTP. I think the buttons on the Q30 are better. The VDU on the XTP is also not as accurate as the Q30, on the beach at least, where of course a lot of variables are in play. I am also using the new Simplex Ultra on the beach and that is turning out to be a really nice machine.

and just now Simplex have 3 new models. Quest is upgraded up to Q35 with selectable freqs. Fat summer

Alas, Quest are keeping their cards close to their chests on this one, Bruce. A test unit came our way but wasn’t quite up to scratch so I think they’re making their tweaks. I have high hopes for the machine!

They are being sued by Minelab and the V80 and 60 are supposedly on hold for release

Minelab X-TERRA Pro v.s Nokta SIMPLEX+ Ultra. The X-Terra Pro has a one inch smaller coil 12" x 9" vs an 11" which gives the Nokta Simplex plus or Ultra an unfair depth advantage however, using an 11" Minelab Equinox coil on the X-Terra Pro you'll find the depth is the same without all the screaming duck, dog squeak toy and seagull sounds of the Simplex

Leuk dat nog een NLer kijkt 😊 ik heb nu 8maanden de Q30+ maar denk eraan om deze te gaan ruilen voor de Q35.

Try a tiny gold chain, that will show why Quest collects dust in the corner

Ive got a q30 from the back of you great machine ive got a q40 aswell not so good

Do the Monthy nailboard test with Minelab X-Terra PRO. That machine like Vanquish is totally crap in iron separation. Only clean patches.

@Addictedtobleeps I have, they got busted by First Texas they copy and implement other detectors software like the QPro which is T2 software and Garrett copied coil, well documented. They invent nothing but strongly borrow. There is a reason we don't buy them in the USA. Ask yourself why they changed their name to quest open one up look at the stampings in the plastic detex.
