Vanlife tour of the ambulance I converted into my home. (Currently on Panamerican tour in Honduras)
I'm currently traveling in the Ambulance with my dog Dino in Honduras. We're on a trip from California to Costa Rica and back.
We've been on the road for 8 months and visited 7 countries thus far. most of my documentation has been through instagram and instagram stories, join me @vanlife_ian_dow_travels / vanlife_ian_dow_travels to follow our journey. I'll also try to post more videos on youtube.

I guess you know that table is a work of art right? The whole van is great

tree trimmer haha yes thank you. It took some serious engineering to design and construct
Great set up. Probably the best i've seen in this kind of car and space. I live on a 27 feet sailboat my self, kylix 27, most people think it's too small, especially in Denmark, where they need at least 100 sq.m. each. But i love my boat. I'm 193 cm, 50 years old, and I don't understand the need of a huge apartment or house that just demands a lot of energy use.

Jan Sveen hi Jan, thank you for the complement. I almost did the boat thing as I've grown up near a harbor and have a mooring there. I once owned a 1948 42ft Anglmen built wooden ketch but ended up giving her away to backpack the world. I love my ambulance but dream of life at sea often. One of these days I'll sail away for a year in the South Pacific with my only worry being in the wind. I think you're right about not needing so much space, the ambo has proven to be enough for me and much easier to take care of than 100sqm home

You think that this guy really lives in it?
Real nice woodwork in this build, and I like the magnet above the sink idea. May have to steal that one for my build
VERY impressed. Beautiful craftsmanship throughout. Well designed - except for absence of a toilet.
That table is SICK...very cool dude
I was a paramedic since 1978 to 2001,i always felt the hight ambulances and box ambulances would make great campers.

Steve Nash you thought right my friend 😉
Lots of ingenuity and hard work went into this ambulance. In the process of buying an ambulance now, and I hope no copyright infringement, but I'm stealing some of these ideas. Thanks for the tour. Cheers!
Outstanding rig! The nicest ambulance conversion I have seen!

Show & Tell w/ Jace Bell thank you!
I saw the video again. Truly beautiful woodwork with inlaid wood strips. Loved the foldout table, the compact kitchen with the subway tile, and the layout. Every cabinet door is well made. Entire van is so functional. I've done a lot of remodeling on my van too but no videos yet. If you are ever in the San Jose area, let me know. I would love to see this van for myself and absorb some of your talents.
That kitchen and the way you made that fold out table really good. The whole thing really the wardrobe and the storage compartments. Continue enjoying and have a safe trip. From Australia.

Jesper Hansen thank you 🙏. The garbage being outside of my bedroom is a must, especially on my trip to Costa Rica and back when I had hot humid nights. Hot trash is no fun to be around haha
This is one of the best ambulance builds I’ve seen! I love everything. The sliding bug screens are ingenious! Good use of the space over the cab for storage.
Two things, the more converted ambulances I see, the more I think they are better than van or class b+ RVs in terms of enough space, but not too big, and that table is the best RV table I have ever seen, custom or manufacturer!

I agree, it’s a huge rig but fits in a normal parking space. The table, like most everything in my rig is very custom and built my my father and I.
Very nice. Love all the beauty in the wood tones and grains. Especially loved the ingenuity of that wonderful fold up table by the bed/seating area.
Wow! That is amazing! The woodwork is beautiful and it appears that you put a great deal of thought into maximizing storage. Impressive!

dude......best set up i have seen. Love our choice of items to store. You have it down!
Lovely woodwork
Dude your ingenuity really made a good work. And coming from a tropical country, I can say that the hammock is really a great idea. Good for hiding in plain sight.
Nice setup. Your woodworking is especially very beautiful.
That’s seriously a really pretty table! I like how you personalized it with all the wood. The ambulance is an interesting concept. I think I’d get depressed with the industrial look but you really changed it up to make it work!
I like how its lived in. Also the magnetic dish idea. Oh the hammock. Yessss.
Beautiful craftsmanship with your wood working! !

Meet Virginia thank you
This is a perfect setup! Great build!
Awesome woodwork and design!!!
Magnificent! You are blessed with many talents and gifts of conversion.
It looks like if you want a diy RV get a box type ambulance. It has everything you'll need (heat, air, insulation, storage, electrical, ect... ), just build and install anything else you feel is needed and enjoy. ;-) I'd add some solar to supplement any power needs.
@fivestarmaniac

i didn't have the money for solar when i did my build but it's for sure the best way to go

I saw a video on using a Tesla battery pack (4"? x 18"? x 30"?) versus regular batteries that are heavier, cost more and are less capable (powerful). The biggest drawback is setting it up, if the other components aren't compatible and especially the heat monitoring system settings (in pack and around it) are wrong you can kill the battery pack, or worse have a fire that's nearly impossible to put out.
Great van. I love your woodwork...
I love the fact that you took the time to make it look really cool. Some ambulance conversions just seem to add a lounge fold out bed and call it done. Where as yours has some really nice woodwork and some original ideas.
Congratulations on a superb conversion . You are a man of many talents !
Wow...love all the wood working you did!!! The detail is so thought ok...i it and beautiful!!! Great work!!!!!

You done an awesome job. And I love your kitchen. It was so smart. And all the real wood looks great. You done a great job on it.
Nice to see someone with an appreciation for timber and the finer nuances of interior decor do one of these. Magnets are such a great idea! Utilising a hammock is a no brainer in these things, though I rarely see it. AC is the crown. Beautiful!
Nice job love your van well done 🇬🇧👍
Absolutely Breathtaking wood work!!!!
Great set up , I really like lay out inside. Thanks from Toronto , Canada

Awesome!!!
This thing is a mess... He must USE IT. Some good ideas and some great wood working. I like it.
That was cool. So many are spotless when you're walked through them. This was just how the guy rolls. No frills. Not my thing, but that woodwork he done himself was impressive. I wouldn't have used the space like that personally, but it is perfect for him. And that foldout/swingout table was brilliant. 👏 Bravo, mate.
you got me at that amazing table
Beautiful wood work, one of the nicest i have seen in a motor home...
Nice build. I love all the woods and woodworking.
Oh my Lord! The mindfulness attention to detail and workmanship!
