No problem, glad it helped you decide. I love my omnia. One of the key bits of kit in my van for sure

👍 This will probably be the first thing we bake in our new Omnia. Thanks for the video. We love easy and delicious camp food.

They are easy and brilliant. I cook them in the silicone mould now, cook so much easier and don’t stick to the sides. Don’t use the wire rack with them no more

This is great. Hard to bake potatoes on the road but with the omnia oven and your recipe I'm going to experiment. It showed what to do and little things to look out for. Thanks again.

I think you could make some nice jacket potatoes in the omnia. I have since found it’s easier to cook the wedges inside the omnia just using the silicone insert instead of the wire rack. Happy baking :)

Any potato recipe is always better(er) if the potatoes are blanched...which is basically bringing water to a rolling boil, chuck in said potatoes and wait for the water to boil again, wait about 30 seconds and then drain them. If you process them further like you are doing here (in this case for the Omnia) then you are alright but if you plan to store them (or partially) for the next day it is recommended you cool them down using copious of cold water. Cooking time wise blanching as described will shave off about 10-15 minutes of the advertised 50-60 minutes. If you were to go a little further with the boiling, say to 3-4 minutes of boiling then you should find the wedges ready at about 30 minutes.

I just got one of these ovens for Christmas and plan to try these this evening. They look awesome! Thanks. My oven does not have a rack but I think I will make something spiral shaped with foil.

I don’t use the rack any more I now just use the silicone mould and let them sit in that, flipping them frequently :) but good luck and have fun! And happy eating!

TY for shearing. Love the thermometer. I mainly would only want it for French fry's, and veggie pantie's. Would the Omnia oven work? Or should I build a small propane toaster oven ?

I did a little video on it, I just brought an ‘outdoor chef’ bbq thermometer and drilled a hole in the lid and away you go. You want the hole to be near to the top of the lid, but leave just enough clearance to get the securing nut on the back

Thanks for posting this, I have just ordered one of these and as an old Englishman I will only be cooking pork sausages, chicken breasts and roast spuds in it, not cakes, flans or any of the usual things they seem to be used for on KZread, how do you think it would cope with that kind of stuff?

They should all cook fine, I would personally cook most of them on the wire rack, but should cook in it fine without the wire rack just remember to turn them every so often :)
