Great stuff as always guys. Enjoy your trip to Malta. Try diving, there are some great wrecks to see, Dive Deep Blue is the school to go with. A day trip to Gozo gives you a feel for what Malta used to be like 30+ years ago when I first went. Valetta is a must; head down Republic Street and take some of the side streets off south towards the Grand Harbour, which incidentally you must see at night from the Upper Barrakka Gardens, there are some great little bars and cafes down those side streets. Mdina is a wonderful place to see at this time of year when it's quieter. Try a horse ride or quad bike tour on the west coast of the island. Take a water taxi from Valletta (go down in the lift from Upper Barrakka Gardens and the taxi stop is across the road) across Grand Harbour to the 3 cities and have a good walk around there. It's much quieter than Valetta but have the same history and feel about them with the added bonus of the beautiful harbours and superyachts. I could go on and on. Have a great time!

Mate, I sympathise with you SO much driving around Edinburgh; it's a bloody nightmare for us non-natives !!!! I was driving there approx 12 years ago, I was 10 minutes from the hotel in the Grassmarket, took a wrong turn and ended up getting there 1 1/2 hours later - thanks to the one way systems (and being a non-native) !. Stress factor was going nuclear as I was driving a V8 Supercharged Jag and running stupidly low on fuel !. I vowed then, I would NEVER drive in Edinburgh again; and I haven't. Train for me all the way.

Hari Om Aw, yes, it can be a windy old place, Edinburgh. I loved seeing all those familiar streets and am so glad you took the chance to make another visit. The traffic is a bit manic and the streets just were not built for it - but that's a lot of the charm! Will be interesting to see your view of things from south of the border... YAM xx

Hi Gemma and Campbell. I love watching your videos they are fantastic and very informative. I can only repeat what my sister has written earlier. Your book goes into so much detail and I can’t wait to put it to good use when my sister and I do the NC500 later in the summer. I just hope I can get the my van habitable for us. If not we will still be doing it but finding B&B to stop in like we did last year on our trip to Skye and Oban. I do hope you do some more guides to the other routes and places in your native Scotland allowing us to share in it’s beauty.

Hi Guys, Thanks for sharing your video. I love Malta. There is a bar in Archbishop Street in Valletta called 'The Pub'. It's where Oliver Reed died, worth a visit. I understand what you say about Edinburgh. Every time I have been there for the Scotland and Wales match, I only remember Princess Street, but I am told Edinburgh is bigger than just the rugby ground and Princess Street. I am yet to see this though. Enjoy Malta, there's plenty to do there.

Great vlog! Having lived on West Coast NC500 before it became "a thing" it has been lovely to travel with you and reminisce. Re Malta. Been there a number of times. One if my favourite places. Don't miss a day visit on ferry to Gozo. Ancient monuments, churches and coves as well as food is amazing. Not expensive either. The catacombs on Malta itself is mind blowing!!!! Really worth a visit. In Valetta Town if you go right and walk along the ramparts it is stunning. Then lots if tiny streets with occasional amazing traditional little restaurants. Great food. I took one of the busses from Valetta to the African side of the island where its final stop is a very interesting Fort which has a tour, cafe etc. We'll worth it. It won tourist award many times. Sorry I can't remember names... 🙄 Be sure to buy a bus pass for the week. A few years ago it was 21 euros but you can then use busses as much as you need to. Happy holiday.

I’ve even wrote camping not dogging on the back of my van 😂

Van life in Edinburgh is easy, we spent 6 days in the Edinburgh caravan and motorhome site. It was only about £20 per night and very nice. Mind you the city was the most litter strewn city I have ever been in. Local tax payers should be asking where their money is being spent ? Glad that I have contributed towards the local economy to improve it though, even though I am not a Scot.

Hi Both. Really enjoy your vlogs. Re Malta.... recommended places to visit from someone who is half Maltese and has family in Malta, as follows: Valetta ( the capital...a must) Mdina...the silent city Sliema Marsaxlokk.....sea food market St Paul's Bay....sandy beach and good night life Hope this is helpful 👍

Malta, try upper barraka Gardens in Valletta for the view over the harbour, Fontanella's cafe in Mdina for a stunning view over the North of the island. St John's cathedral in Valletta. Mosta dome

I was a bus driver in Edinburgh so quite enjoy driving around the city. Its difficult just now because of all the tram and road works but it's not that big that you can go massively wrong. Glasgow on the other hand, I avoid. Hate the place, Sorry.
