Sympathy with the human poo! Many years ago whilst working with stinking hangover, I was moving a straw bale when my hand went inside something. Turned out to be a dead poisoned rat that had been half eaten by another rat…….and my hand was in its stomach….. I genuinely did vomit and scrubbed my hand with bleach and all sorts for hours. Still gives me nightmares!

Great video. If you stick a stainless steel knife through the potato length ways and then wrap it in foil (with the knife in) itl cook fully on fire a lot quicker.

I totally agree with you both about the poo but had to chuckle at Mitch when he said I don’t know what I’m going to do, I’ll have to burn my hand off. Great video as always.

I biuy the cooked prepack bakers for camping all washed. Just put oil on them rock salt then cover over with tin foil but not tight so there ois air going through it

If you do want to attempt potatoes on the fire again.. :) It would probably take about an hour and usually when you're cooking on the fire you have the cooking coals on one side and then a fire on the other side that you can feed the cooking coals with. Love the wild camping video though!

Next time try cooking small potatoes in the fire double wrapped in foil with butter and garlic.. these cook quickly 😘

You have to poke holes in the potatoes with a fork. .. this allows the potatoes to let steam out and they cook faster

Things never seem to go how we envision them either! We once tried to make Christmas dinner in the van and it went so wrong- our Gas froze meaning all we had to eat was half cooked veg! Great video though, so entertaining! :)

I understand you don't like the litter, but in equivalent areas in the UK it's just as bad. I've just been for a walk and found bags of empty beer cans and a child's inflatable pool.

Really enjoyed this one guys! I tried spuds on the fire once..won’t lie they we’re actually really good!haha I must have been lucky 😂 can’t believe someone nabbed your axe I’d be screwing!! One thing next time your “off road” if you have it, turn your traction control off, on my T5 it looked like a car wheels skidding button or ASR..it should help a bit 👍🏼 It’s actually the only reason I chose a sprinter over a new crafter to build as it’s a rwd with all the weight over the rear axle it helps in situations like that 👍🏼 One last tip, get some bbq firelighters and make “feather sticks” (once you’ve bought a new axe!lol)😉, keep a few to dry in the garage ..I’ve jinxed myself now but I’ve never failed getting a fire going that way even in light rain 👍🏼

Love your channel, so far from the usual "van life is a dream come true for us". Nope sometimes van life is a handful of human waste and half raw potatoes for dinner. And to be honest it only makes it more fun and I'm eager to get on the road myself but still have a few years to save up for a proper camper.😁
