Nick spoke about how he believes the marriage ended because if reality tv. He had no issues doing it with Vanessa and airing their wedding. Trying to make Jessica jealous even though she clearly had the bigger career and STILL makes a lot more money than them.

I’m getting Stockholm Syndrome vibes from her. Nick couldn’t control Jessica cause her legitimate talent afforded her a get out of jail card. But….

Just like it takes effort to grow as a person it take effort to grow in a marriage together, you have to be intentional. People genuinely don't understand that. It's ONE of the many reasons a lot of people don't last in marriages these days.

I just remember how she latched on after he and Jessica broke up. Seems she was the rebound that Nick decided to seattle.

That's actually exactly what happened--and they finally admitted it in a recent interview 😂 They broke up before getting engaged because they had been together for about 4 years and she had done all these wifely things and Nick was still refusing to marry her. She said she gave him an ultimatum and he left lol Then he realized after trying to date another woman that she was the best he was going to get if he wanted kids by the time he was 40 (because he couldn't get the actual love of his life back so what else was he to do, ya know?). So ultimately, he's only with her because he couldn't get Jessica back and wanted to fulfill his dream of having a family. It's pretty sad when you look at it objectively, but that's Vanessa's karma for being all over Nick when he would come on TRL to promote his stuff while still being married Jessica. She clearly was willing to take him in any form she could get him. Even if it was him doing it begrudgingly.

@@JustMeDG Anything worthwhile does require a certain amount of effort but love shouldn't be difficult the majority of the time. It should be pleasant for the most part and not be forced. It should come naturally if you are with the right person. Of course there will tough times here and there but if you are compatible it shouldn't be THAT much of a struggle. Otherwise what's the point? I would ask myself: "Does this relationship ADD to my life or diminish it and bring me down?" Is it TOO much of a struggle? So many people hang onto relationships that should have ended long ago because they are terrified to be alone. When the bad outweighs the good, move on!

Love isn’t supposed to be this hard. This is a little sad :( the work is communication, compromise, seeing different perspectives and so on with your partner. But really the most important work is on yourself. Being the best version of yourself and the rest is easy. That’s what worked for me anyway.

This particular video is old, I know from watching the new season of love is blind, if you don't know they are the hosts of that show, they've now been together 18 years and married 13 years, which I mean compared to your parents is nothing, but generally I think is a long time, but like you said for sure in Hollywood years is an extremely long time.

Nick and Vanessa never should've gotten married bc in order to be with her Nick HAD to give up pursuing his career the way he wanted to support hers, which u can tell he doesn't like. And Vanessa lost her identity bc all of her value resides in being Nick's wife, that's why she's so controlling with him. She knows they're a bad fit and she's insecure about it so that makes her tighten the reigns on him to make sure he stays.

I remember hearing that he told her she needed to learn to cook and there was a couple of other things but I can't remember. But I do remember from the show that she was a horrible house keeper, didn't cook and just spent without a budget.

I love this couple they're working on things and NOT just giving up. Marriage is work, give and take, communication, being there through the good and bad times. When you love each other, you definitely need communication to get through things, if you don't communicate with your husband or wife its going to turn ugly and someone will shut down their emotions and not want to talk. You have to be present and patient with each other. You also have to have date night at least once a week and not talk about the kids, its all about the both of you, have fun, laughter, get romantic so your marriage doesn't end. Love and marriage is hard work, but if you love each other so much and can't imagine anyone else other than the person who you are with, its worth fighting for. Again communication is the big key. You both are a lovely couple, please work on things, people give up way too easily. Love you both ❤❤❤

Oh it's worse. She and Jessica became friends after Jess' appearances on TRL in '04 (while Jessica was married to Nick and doing some of those appearances with him). I remember not liking Vanessa immediately while watching those appearances because she was all over Nick flirting with him without shame. She soon "befriended" Jessica and would be the little scheming bug in her ear, getting her to spill her marriage troubles with Nick while they were out for drinks in NYC. Giving Jessica "advice" the whole time. It was a hugely-reported detail back in '06 because Jessica was divorcing Nick and suddenly out pops Vanessa by his side in his new music video about Jess and is papped on dates with him. The media remembered the whole timeline and outed Vanessa. 😂 She is a conniving snake and their own dismal marriage is her karma for actions.

He even went to Jessica's place to play her the entire album and let her know what was about to be released to the public. They even had sex after listening to the album. The only reason Vanessa is there (and whining here about having to bend over backwards to become Nick's sloppy seconds) is because Jessica wouldn't take him back after he begged her to stay.

Nick has ALWAYS been very private, Ya'll remember back in the day when Kim Kardashian was trying to make a name for herself? Well she used her flirty and baby sexy vibe like Paris Hilton to get him to go on a date with her to the movies. Little did he know, Kim was just trying to make a name for herself in that Hollywood D celebrity type culture, Just like Paris. Kim also wanted to be on the hills and you can see her in a couple scenes for a hot second. Anyway, Nick Lachey and Kim went to a movie. Kim called the paparazzi quietly before hand to let them know what they were doing and when they would be leaving the theatre. Well Nick didnt like that and he was pissed the Eff off at her. He ditched her after that. Part of me understands his reservations, but at the same time, when I see his wifes emotional pain . I feel there is something deeper going on in with there relationship , and especially with Nick!! HE has a hidden side he doesnt want anyone to see, and i am an empath. Its not a good side i feel. I love them together I really hope they last I adore nick Lachey and I remember how heartbroken he was after his divorce w Jessica Simpson im so happy he found such an amazing beautiful woman and I always loved Vanessa I remember when she won that vj competition on MTV im so happy they are happpy

I don't feel bad for Vanessa. Because Vanessa did met Nick when he was married to Jessica. When Vanessa used to work for MTV. The TRL days. When she was a VJ. Interviewing them both as a couple. Gotta remember you're not the 1st wife. Nothing compares to the 1st spouse. Whether you're a man or woman. You're getting the leftovers. It is always disgusting & problematic. As you can tell. Vanessa continues being petty AF & jealous of Jessica. And it has been years. And still hurting deep down inside. That's why you can't take baggage from previous relationships/marriage not even children. Because it was never your responsibility or duty to fulfill the next person's happiness. Vanessa made her bed. Gotta deal with it. Until the day she decides to continue with the marriage or divorce Nick.

Yup! It's like we're all in trouble all the time because Vanessa has to work so hard at her marriage. It's also hard to tell who her anger is directed at because Nick is sitting right next to her while she's yelling at the wind about how much she hates her life. Perplexing.

I noticed this about her also. I am sorry but if I had to give a man a ‘Ultimatum’ to marry me but still work hard at the marriage…maybe it is not meant to be.

I don't think she truly wanted to marry Nick. I don't think she thought she could do better, and felt pressured to give him an ultimatum. Nick wanted a wife and kids more than he wanted Vanessa. Either way they have a beautiful family. Glad they could work through it.

Wow to make a statement like that when you don’t actually know. That’s completely the opposite of the truth. She was hungry for him before and during their dating life. It was a lot especially shortly after the breakup and when Nick was starting his solo tour. She made all her intentions very, very obvious… explicitly. Also, Vanessa was the one who didn’t have a family if you know her personal life. Her Mom abandoned her. She wanted that family life with Nick and made it happen with 3 kids.

Also there are a lot of places of the info I gave. I certainly wouldn’t just make up stuff.

A submissive wife. and she doesnt want to be one. They're both Scorpios with the same birthdays. I'm not surprised at all their making their marriage "work" She wants more leeway and freedom as a woman and he prohibits her that freedom without him getting all jealous. Jealousy in a relationship will always be the downfall in any relationship 💯💯

I never knew they werw married when I saw clips of them hosting because there didn't seem to be any sort of chemistry lol it's giving very much BUSINESS and staying together for the "power couple" title

If you watched the ultimatum season 1, at the beginning of the season I'm pretty sure it is where she talked about her journey to getteing married to her now husband! But I must say that it is true they do not seem to have chemistry but I think it is because they're hosting and not trying to be all lovey dovey since this is their job. Just my thoughts.

I disagree. I don't watch the show but they seem very much in love. Why would they have kid after kid after kid. They are in a happy healthy loving marriage/relationship. ❤️

If you watch them host their shows they don't really interact with each other in a lovey dovey way. They do seem more like business partners which they are. They are a couples who seem more into each other than they seem on camera but it's just me. And personnaly I do not agree that since they have children they are in love. A lot of people get and stay married just because they want the title or for children.

I don’t understand the hate in these comments. They seem like a normal married couple. Up and downs and in Hollywood to be together this long they are obviously doing something right. I wish them and their beautiful family the best.

The issue here is not Nick. I’m sure he can be a jerk but Vanessa was so thirsty for him way back when he was a married man. I remember her flirting with him on MTV spring break right in front of Jessica and acting a fool on set of his video for “What’s Left of Me”. She was determined she was going to be with him no matter what and she’s always been insecure because she’s never measured up to Jessica. Nick never has and never will love her like he did Jessica and she knows that. She’s nowhere near as beautiful as 2003 Jessica Simpson and never will be.

As much as I dislike Vanessa, I imagine it is frustrating constantly being compared to your husband's ex and said ex constantly being brought up in interviews.

She seems so annoying

I noticed she looked very stressed in the first episode so much so I couldn't keep trying to watch. It was like the unspoken situation...
