Becoming a new truck driver brought me here. Have to get creative with showering. Good vid.

Actually, if you do your whole body with wipes then take a wat washcloth and go over again, you get really clean. Hair, do bucket and large cup.

When camping I can bathe with the water that fits in a McDonalds largest size plastic soda cup. I have short hair and 1/2 to 3/4 cups of water and a tiny dab of shampoo and a wash cloth does the trick for me. I use a dish pan to stand in, a cotton woven dish towel to dry off, a wash cloth to clean head to toe, and use a spray bottle filled with water to rinse. My feet get washed with the water that drips into the dish pan. We have a shower and I hate using it. Its too confining for me and I am not even a large person. I close off the space between the shower and toilet, put a cloth on the floor to keep it dry and stand in the dish pan. The wash rag sloughs dead skin, gets the dirt off and is refreshingly efficient. The small spray bottle helps me lather up a bit with a bar of soap if needed. I used to use a gallon of water per shower but now am down to a 1/2 gallon and less most days. I just dump the used water outside. Its like a challenge for me to use less and less water. I find using shampoo is just as good as body wash. We are not year round campers and don’t RV full time. We plan to invest in an outdoor shower soon in case we need longer showers.

Get a Pump Weed Sprayer for your shower and a plastic Rubbermaid Bin. There's your Indoor shower.

😭 watching these types of videos because of Texas snowpocalypse- going on day 4 of no running water and having to melt snow for water and I need to do something cause I feel gross 😫

Hang in there! If you shower like we do, it may be cold since the water is not constantly running, but once you are clean you will feel like a million bucks. It is easier if you have someone helping you refill a smaller bottle and keeping it full so you always have hot water. Our hearts go out to you!

My ex gf and did this in 2018 in Chicago. Solar bag for water on top of van warmed up nice. Other times if we had to, a big spray bottle. And have the other person soap our backs were we couldn't reach. It wasn't ideal, but you know when you need to clean yourself. Wet wipes don't cut it sometimes. But, most of the times we used a gym membership to shower. It was great. Congrats on the van life. People put too much thought into it, just get a van, and do it.

I'm a trucker wife. I use Depends wipes and sometimes I use a spray bottle of water and my favorite soap and a wash cloth. Most days, I'm at Love's travel shop, taking a good shower.b

I allways find these type of things helpful as I have a port an can rarely fully shower. Thanks

I boil about 44 oz use a hot soapy hypo water towel wipe after biodegradable wipes for privates. Boil one more. Toes are last. Good to go. Hair ill sink wash later.

Watching this video as a Texan, my water pipe burst and we had to shut off our water! There is at least 130+ bursted pipes in my town alone so who knows when my plumber will be able to come around and fix it 😥

😣 As Michiganders we know what tough winters are like but nothing like Texas is experiencing. Hang in there! Our hearts go out to you as well. We are happy to have a video used in a way that may be truly helpful to others. This shower method does work and is worth it especially if you have not showered in days.

For my indoor shower I sit on a stool which is inside of the dog bath I hang up a shower curtain which stays inside of the dog bath and I use a portable pump shower which sits in a bucket and to keep the water warm or hot I use my water heater immersion stick so I can have a long hot shower if I want to and the moon looks good in the distance

Yeah pretty much the same thing I do when I can’t get to a full shower or river... if it’s only been two days you could get away with just using a wash cloth and wiping down your body and rinsing it off, it’s just definitely more uncomfortable when cold! Haha

Get a solar shower. Travelled around Central America in a van and used one. Was THE best thing we brought along.

I use a big thermos or small igloo pour my clean hot water in that for my bucket bath it stays hot longer

Our water doesn’t work right now so what I do is get bar soap or something and have big water jugs to pour on me

Showering in Texas cause we have a wretched power grid

You could just get a membership at planet fitness & shower there everyday 😂

Here’s an idea make a mounting spot on your side slider door to hang a 5gal jug upside down and screw a hose with valve on it and you’ll have some running water.

I recognized that area before i saw the sign. Beautiful area of our state, must have been on the way to the North rim.

Buy a small enclosed trailer that you can pull with your van and build a bathroom in it lol

Ha that would be some bathroom. I think it would be easier to just buy a camper. We WILL have an indoor shower in our next van and we can't wait to give everyone a tour.

I might invest in a 27x27 round portable bathtub And A 12 v element to heat water. Ill get a 5 gallon portable jug for water. JS. A hose will drain it

You have lots of room for an indoor shower in a drawer or something like that... Please keep in mind that technology being what it is 1. you never know who is getting a close up of your information 2. it can be posted online along with your face showing ...just a thought

What about those outdoor showers that are like small rooms you can setup outside? Never used one but they look like they would be pretty good?!? Or those tubes on the top of the van? Yea we’d be freezing from the wind alone much less the temps! 💯 y’all should get your own van with indoor shower and 4x4!! Do y’all feel limited in what you can do with the rental?

We will definitely have an indoor solution in the new van setup. The rental has its perks like not having to pay for anything that goes wrong with the vehicle. However, the downsides are not being able to build anything permanent and feeling the need to travel as fast as possible to get the most we can our of each month we are paying for it. We do not hesitate to go down some sketchy roads if we think we wont get stuck!

There will definitely be a future video reveal! However, since COVID is starting to hit really heavy and complicating all areas of travel and logistics of products we need, we are not sure when that reveal will be.

People did this for years and survived. lol

That could be useful sometimes. But if you're in the middle of the desert with no where to hang it? The water bottle also gives you greater control over how much water you use.

Look into homeless day shelters church buildings get a gym membership
