If it helps you feel better, even storm chasers go into the ditches. A tornado will pick up your car and wrap it around someone’s house. Better to just hunker in the ditch. And don’t park under overpasses, they create a vacuum for air. Scary stuff for real.

I got to go for their synchronous firefly event a couple years ago, and it was so incredible. Highly recommend (just wear a mosquito netting around your head - I wish I would have done that!!)

Next time you are in SC you have to go to Humting Island State Park! It is the best in SC ( and I grew up on Sullivan’s Island!) There is a path near the fishing pier( it’s quite a walk but worth it as few people go this route) to the boneyard. This portion of the beach was left in it’s natural state. The rest was dredged a few years back. It’s all beautiful but I know you would appreciate it. (You can see a portion of it in the Outer Banks party scene. )

We free camp hour from Myrtle Beach at national Park fernwood i think so many mosquitos 😂 even bug spray didnt help .. nice trail good vlog

Theres a few parks here in mid missouri thats really pretty. The Haha Tonka state park is really cool and full of history. If you end up checking it out, the Bagnel Dam Strip is popping around this time of year. Theres a cool museum for it around there. I suggest checking that out too. Its all around the Lake of the Ozarks.

Okay, but the "let's go see my mom and my cat" song is a vibe 😂 Was so happy to see you had posted a longer video when I went onto KZread 😊 I understand it's more work and more editing, but I personally just enjoy getting to 'hang out' with you and live vicariously through your vids for longer. "I went to an auction and bought a giant bag of expired pretzels. But why?" Hahaha ngl I would have done the exact same thing. Also, there's something really exciting about a good auction, thrift, etc. So understandably easy to get caught up in the fun haha. When I heard you say "bought a giant bag of…" and I saw the backpacks, I thought you were about to say you bought a giant box of camping/hiking gear. That would've been awesome! How exactly did you end up at an auction btw? If you don't mind me asking. Was it part of a plan or just spontaneously happen upon it? Is that some ballet moves at 1:38? I could've sworn that we learned in school that the pneumatophores, knees, etc were for gas exchange? Or maybe I'm remembering wrong 😅 The campfires, wildflowers and mud perfume by Erin™️ hahaha. I know exactly what you mean though. It just smells fresh. Wait, are you still rocking the CD sleeve case on the sun visor? I love that! I've also still got one! I kinda miss the days of having mix CDs that I'd burn. The petrol cost is just a necessary evil unfortunately, worth it for the awesome adventures and road trips you get to go on and the memories you get to make. I also love sleeping in a van or tent when it's raining, so cosy and soothing for the soul 😴 It's bittersweet seeing this trip come to an end, but I'm sure you have more fun trips and adventures coming up. I can't wait to see where you take us next. Glad you got home safe (that storm was no joke 🫣) and happy you got to cross some more parks off your list (at least these ones had the patches available, unlike Florida). I'm going to post a short about the auction lol! It was quite the experience haha! Ahh yes i read about gas exchange too but apparently scientists still dont have a solid answer which is so cool! Yes, i got a CD sleeve for a dollar at thrift store and this is the first roadtrip I've been rocking in it! I used to live in Texas there were tornadoes there all the time. Yeah, they say jump in a ditch. I’m lucky I’ve never been affected by one but they’ve destroy areas around me and across the highway from me.

I love your channel! Such an inspiration. I’m currently looking at used Ford Transit Connect XLTs and have a question if you have the time. I’m curious if you like the way that the back doors open up to the side as opposed to a traditional door that opens up? I might get a passenger van to be able to keep the back jump seats in under my bed platform, but the ones I am seeing have the door going straight up. I could see it creating a nice little canopy, but I also really like how your doors open to the side. Thank you for your time if you are able to answer! ❤

It's really not too bad! I'm gonna add it all up for this trip and then make a youtube short about it! I think the last time i added it all up from the top of california, all the way down, then over through texas and up to michigan, for 2 months and it was only like 700 dollars!! and i saw like 8 new national parks so it was totally worth it

Good question!! I went to school for this kind of thing and I really thought I would end up working for the park service, or a nonprofit to promote environmental advocacy, now I just try to sprinkle some learning in my videos and be a good role model! But educating yourself on environmental problems is number one, doing small things to change your habits, and of course voting and having hard conversations with other people is so important!
