Everyone knows the album version and the legendary live version from Live without a net but for some reason, this version somehow steps out from behind the shadow of the version in live without a net. I also love how you can clearly hear the echo on Sammy’s voice! Too many times that kind of authenticity to the live shows is lost to the editing process when being released commercially. For some other reason this video feels so authentic to the real live experience when I put on noise canceling headphones and close my eyes. It’s as close as it can feel for me while thinking to hearing it live in person. I was lucky enough to be right in front of Eddie at a show in Philly back in the 90s. I was literally 10 feet from him. That wasn’t a concert attended, that was an EXPERIENCE to cherish.. Man, the world lost a great innovator with that so very unique mind. As I study his music, method, technique and sound, I get so overwhelmed with wanting to know it all at once! It’s just too much to process. He truly was our modern day Mozart/Beethoven.

I am a guitarist and I was watching every single note he played when he was standing still right there a coule of feet away. He definatel saw me watching , because he gave me a impish little grin and he winked at me. He knew damn well I was picking his brain and he was probably telling me by that wink "you see this ? " Hahaa, go ahead and try to play it " Not trying to insult me, rather, "you now know the way I play , go for it, and lol..good luck! 😜💥

will say it a million times, and mean it everytime Being a guitarist myself, I know what EVH was to me. Everyone else here knows what he meant to them. You can throw out all the superlatives you want about The Master, but there is never going to be an argument about his mastery of his chosen art. No else had players around the planet going "What the F is that". From his grin to his fingers Eddie was born to bring us joy through his expression of his art, and you can thank whatever god you believe in that he shared his joy with us. ALWAYS #1 UNPARALLELED. When the master emerged, from the opening chords of you really got me, every player knew the sonic landscape was changed in a way that was unheard of up to that time. Eruption smashed his foot onto your throat daring you to try to emulate him. No one can. There was never anyone like him, and there will never be another, and I miss his artistry.

I also think Sammy sounds just as good live. I hope and pray that VH decides to reunite with Sammy and Michael Anthony. If they did, I'd spend as much money as possible to see them live

He knew damn well I was picking his brain and he was probably telling me by that wink "you see this ? will say it a million times, and mean it everytime Being a guitarist myself, I know what EVH was to me.
