Micheal Anthony is criminally underrated. His basslines and distinctive backing vocals are the backbone of Van Halen.

@jayc650 Con Maybe but I think he probably made serious jackpot before Eddie and Alex got greedy. So your assumption (and assumption is always the the worst thing anyone can do in life) is that he didn't stand up for himself? His status is just fine. That is fact not fiction from assumption.

  • @kingswoodroadproductions6570

@jayc650 Con Bullshit. Quit assuming. You're toast and had absolutely no place in the negotiation. Deal with the fact you don't know that fact or Michael himself. Shame on you.

@jayc650 Con Like I said. You assume way too much. Just deal with that and grow up. You are way out of your league to comment on the business dealings of the band, rights, royalties and someone's personal character. Good damn thing you don't work for me. I'd buck you down hard.

This was VH in their prime. Insanely charismatic front man, arguably the best guitarist of the day, and the best background vocals in rock. Woz and company got it right at the US Festival.

I got her agree with you. I grew up the same as you did. I'm 57 years old. I live in South Florida. I've seen Van Halen so many times. It's like every time I go see Van Halen it's like seeing them for the first time Eddie's memorizing just just memorizing you can't take your eyes off of them. You can't. I mean s*** it's it's just like you're frozen in time. It's unbelievable to watch him. Everybody misses him. I'm crying now watching this. I'm not afraid or scared to admit that I'm a grown man. I don't care. It's this is my life like millions of other fans. You know any Eddie is the goat, the king. He did it all. I mean Van Halen who didn't grow up on that in our era. You know February 10th 1978 they came out. They blew everybody away. Actually they came out 1972. They were called Mammoth but they changed their name. When David Lee Roth told any of the change, their name and the rest was history. F****** a Van Halen is the best in the world. Always will be too bad. Will never get to see them play again. I've seen them play many times. There's there's no comparison to them. Rest in peace at a you're so miss brother. We all love you

1983 Van Halen. At the absolute height of their superpowers. Many incarnations of the band over the decades. Plenty of debate as to which version was more musically talented. But this original lineup is/was/never will be unmatched.

Not sure VH had FAKE backing vocals in concert at the time. The tech would be too crude back then.) PLUS, we can clearly see lots of OTHER suspicious bits, like EVH's guitaring NOT MATCHING THE AUDIO (look at his harmonics during the first guitar solo in the first song), so it's not just the fake backing vocals that are an issue in this video.

I met Eddie in 1983 in Greensboro NC. He was so nice. As soon as I got to engage him in conversation, the road manager comes up and says "Limos here Eddie" Eddie says "wait a minute, I'm talking " puts his two unopened Schlitz malt liquors into his left hand and his cigarette in his mouth and shakes my hand. When he and Michael goes out the backstage door, I hear the crowd waiting outside start screaming. It was then it dawned on me that I had just met Eddie van Halen.

I checked him out when I worked at a Trader Joes in Westchester, CA. 1997. It was right before closing. I bagged his stuff then said something like, "Here you go. Now go practice." He looked at me, smiled and grunted like, "Oh. I get it." I told my manager, "I just checked out Eddie Van Halen." Once he believed me he ran out to the parking lot looking for him. I felt stupid about my failed joke for a couple days. EVH no doubt forgot about it before he hit the parking lot. lol

The affection of father and son brought tears to my eyes. It's like, I couldn't cry for myself but I could for Wolf. I'm eager to hear his solo album whenever he can release it... Van Halen was the ultimate party band! Diamond David Lee Roth was the last Rock stud who mixed true showmanship with insane vocals. Eddie was the last guitar God in the line of Hendrix. Record companies have killed off true talent like Van Halen to push corporate created dumbed down artists. Hopefully, in time the cradle will rock once more!

Eddie was so unique. Nobody could replicate his style and sound that he created from nothing. I've seen dozens of Eruption and other videos by fans on the youtubes but not a single one is close. I don't know if you ever saw them with Dave at a live show. After the release of Diver Down he was terrible vocally. It wasn't about the music anymore , it was about him. Sammy didn't have that with them. The shows and the music were spot on and the vocals perfect....even with Gary Cherone the show was better live than with Dave. Don't get me wrong the studio versions are priceless. l
