Argentina broke every record in football when it comes to losing finals. They lost so many finals in a stretch that it looked like they were jinxed never to ever win a trophy again. But they kept qualifying for more and more finals. Finally they won. Haters never thought that all those lost finals were rigged. It was just the one they finally managed to win that is rigged. @@wesbyEric that’s pretty much the point here. But what bothers me is that when his luck finally turns around and he gets the wins with Argentina that he very much deserved and earned, people start talking about rigged and stuff. When clearly he won fair and square.

I have never seen Messi furious and fuming like in that Netherlands game. It also shows that winning and competitive mentality Messi needed to lift the Argentine team to greater accomplishments.

@@alejandrobustos693 which one are you referring to? Goalkeeper Neuer vs Higuain? There was no VAR at the time so it was a 50/50 decision by the Ref. But that’s the thing, the decisions in the 2022 World Cup were all backed by VAR.

No, it's just not possible. I totally agree with you. And I would add 4. Did Kolo Muani have an agreement with Emiliano Martinez that he would miss and Martinez would save that last second chance?! Argentina got favoured by the worldcup hosts Qatar , First of all out of the 6 penalties they got which by itself is a worldrecord, 2 penalties without any contact thanks to the referee. 2nd Messi clear handsball vs netherlands not getting a card. favoured by ref again. 3rd parades shooting the ball right in the bench of netherlands players after making a foul, again no card was given because it would have been hes 2nd yellow and they cannot let argentina play with a man down. Also portugal getting 2 argentina refs in their game vs morocco when these refs are not even champions league refs. Argentina was clearly favoured by the hosts of the world cup. Messi fans sayin its not rigged because france could he won it on the last shot, but than again messi fans are pretty dumb being favoured does not mean you will 100% win it. its just means you wil have an easier time winning it. And again Messi getting a ballon d'or for this performance whilst he had a bad season at PSG with low contribution, hes now last in MLS league which is a joke and he will get a ballon dor whilst Haaland won UCL, FA CUP and premier league.

You should blame the players who were committing the penalties inside the box and not Argentina. Luis Figo said that Santos the Portugal coach, benching Ronaldo in the Morocco game, is one of the worst decisions in Portugal's history and he was sacked after the world cup. So blame Santos instead of the Argentinian ref. Lionel Scaloni, on the other hand, realized that it would be a crime to bench Messi, so he played every single minute. And that's really what made the difference at the end. Good coach, good players, great goalkeeper and the GOAT. Not some handball in midfield that made no difference whatsoever. At the end, Messi is a better player than Haaland, so he deserves the Ballon D'Or more. Otherwise, why couldn't Haaland help Norway reach the world cup or even the Euros. But Paredes deserves a red card, Messi could have got one as well. 10 mins was right because there was a lot of stoppage during the game alot of fights. Next try and clear up the penalty incidents. For me only one clear cut penalty thats against France, Netherlands a dive plus penalty should have beeen retaken and the Croatia was 50/50 but to me Alvarez run in the keeper.

Vs Netherlands - Dumfries made contact with Acuna on the feet as he stepped on his foot and there's a clear replay on BBC. The penalty shouldn't be retaken because although on of messi's teammate stepped into the box before messi took the penalty it doesn't state in the rule book that a penalty should be retaken if the penalty taker's teammate steps into the box before he shoots. 2. Vs France - Dembele made contact with Di Maria as he clipped his foot which caused both of Di Maria's feet to collide in which he fell. 3. Vs Croatia - Alvarez wanted to chip the ball over Liakovic before he makes a run around him but Liakovic literally blocked him with his right leg so blame him for making that decision.

Van Gaal is just salty he lost as he claimed they had the advantage on penalties 😂😂😂 When Messi loses: Ronaldo is the goat,he can't carry Argentina, fraud When Messi wins: Rigged,payed the referees,cheated

And even though Portugal won in a very strange way without winning a single game in the group stages, I still thought that such an amazing player like Ronaldo deserved it. Van Gaal could've tried to beat Argentina by playing better football but instead, he chose to do so much talking, before and after the game, so agree 100%.

Just like Modric carried Croatia and has done it for years, so has Messi. Without him, Argentina would be nothing. And that's what counts the most, in my opinion. @StanleyMubby. I would like to offer Some examples of the treatment received from the referees and FIFA in Qatar 2022 by Argentina. In the match against Saudi Arabia. 1 - When the score is 1 to 0, there is a legal goal by Lautaro Martinez that invalidates it due to off-side and it is because he is offside taking into account the defender next to him, (which is the photo of the doll that they put) but there is a player who is more towards the end that enables it. 2 - The Saudis got tired of making heavy fouls and just received the first ring after scoring the two goals. 3 - 3a. Really extrange if FiFA was trying to put easy to Argentina team, for the match against the Netherlands they appointed Mateu Lahoz as referee, well known in Spain, a Real Madrid supporter and anti-Messi (probably because of the 27 goals he scored against him and the multiple trophies he won by beating Madrid). 3b. He made a lamentable arbitration, in which he gave 8 yellow cards to the Argentine players, which prevented some of them from playing the next game. 3c. He did not want to see a tackle that Weghorst made to Messi in midfield, from behind and without the ball being in dispute. This player, before scoring the two goals and, since he came on, he did it provoking with words and kicks. Messi had identified him with the number 19, so when he appeared in the locker room he told him that: "go there, fool." 3d. Mateu said that he gave 10 minutes of extra time and, when they had already passed and it was 11:30, in a very doubtful play, he gave a free kick on the edge of the area in favor of the Netherlands, from which came the tie. 4 -In the final against France. 4a. The kicks that De Paul got, especially min. 53 and that they did not receive the corresponding sanction. 4b. Min 62. Upamecano to Mac Allister. Upamecano to Mac Allister min. 62. of the final match France vs Argentina. At that moment, the ball is not in dispute, Mac Allister has gained the position and tries to shoot. Upamecano has no chance or intention to challenge for the ball, his only intention is to prevent Mac Allister from accessing it and he does it by pushing him from behind and making him fall. For it to be a legal charge, it would have to have been made with his shoulder against Mac Allister's shoulder and it would have to have been a contested ball, in which Upamecano would have had the opportunity and intention to play the ball. As it was, a clear push inside the area, against an attacker (Mac Allister) who had won the position and he (Upamecano) could not access nor did he have the intention of challenging for the ball, he just tried to prevent Mac Allister from hitting the ball. Therefore, it was a clear illegal offense that should have been penalized. Marciniak was 4 meters away and he did not penalize anything or consult the VAR, nor did the VAR say anything to him. 4c. in the min. 80 Coman pushes Messi twice, until he makes him fall, he does not charge him with his shoulder against Messi's shoulder.

Messi missed a penalty against Poland, but Argentina won the game. Messi scored a penalty against the Netherlands, but they won the game through a penalty shoot-out. Messi scored a penalty against Croatia, but they had already scored two more goals to win. It was a handball in the midfield circle and had no effect whatsoever neither for Argentina nor for the The Netherlands and so that's pretty much it. A handball for The Netherlands and play on.

@@ahmedelaroussi a handball meens a yellow card. De ref all ready had to give him a yellow card for what het did to van gaal. So the handball had to be a red card.

And the handball was in midfield without any effect on play. For a referee who gave 18 yellow cards in that game, I think he would’ve used another yellow card in case anyone needed it. Messi is a great player no doubt. But the world cup was full of issues. Argentina got a penalty kick on every game from the round of 16. This is crazy. Not a bias against Argentina but just FIFA has called so many penalties. Too much. Changed the dynamic of so many games.

I respect your point of view but totally disagree with it. The video lays out not one but six reasons Messi got no help. And responding to your statement, there was a very clear handball on Australia inside the box in the round of 16 by the Ref who officiated the final and he didn't give a penalty. But I guess we'll have to agree to disagree and of course, thanks for sharing. Cheers.

Messi and Argentina got penalties because the team was an attacking animal. If you get to play inside the penalty area, you ll get penalties. There isn’t even one important issue on Argentina’s victory, one of the best and most deserved champions in the world cup history. Period.

I wish they just allow free football and stop political penalties. Penalty against Poland is most embarrassing world cup penalty given. I can understand if there was no VAR and ref was deceived, but it was VAR that gave it. This is not natural, but a gift from FIFA for Messi.

@@dr.rickbootyit’s weird bc vs Saudi and Poland those weren’t penalties, but Messi missed vs Poland and Argentina lost to Saudi. Vs Netherlands that was 100% a pen anyone who says otherwise doesn’t know anything about the sport. Even if it was rigged Only those pens vs France and Croatia are the ones fishy ones that had an impact.

The fact that Argentina sold the first game to Saudi Arabia who really ran the World Cup just confirms they were then approved to win the whole thing with dubious referring decisions the rest of the way

I cheered Messi like crazy in the world cup final, but I also cheered Portugal and went nuts when they won the Euros because it meant that a great player like CR7 would win an international title that he very much deserved.
