Yes indeed. I was born in 83 and I really think that only a few kids younger than me, maybe upwards of 87 (?) had a childhood that still had Saturday morning cartoons, TGIF, and a culture of kids who still played outside and weren't glued to electronic devices. I have a 4 year old boy and he will definitely be influenced by how I grew up. I look forward Friday or Saturday nights when he and I can just eat pizza, Little Debbie snacks, drink soda, and watch Schwarzenegger/Van Damme flicks. Not all the time, but one of those things we do every now and then that builds a core memory for him. :)

Van Damme's films were much more realistic compared to action movies that followed in the next decades. Just one or two kicks/punches and the opponent is down...just like in real life. In films of 00's and the following years, the protagonist, the "good guy", should had hit his opponent at least 30 times to knock him down. 😊

Learn about the 80's. It's the best and most crazy decade in human history, will never be surpassed. Everything was on steroids (metaphorically said), everything was crazy, things made little sense and logic and we all loved it and can't get enough if it... This sport was still not known much and was in development, and people were not acting like Gayweather and all other combat sports fighters of today where they need 6 months preparation, where they need all these analysis and strategy teams, where they avoid real competition for a decade until competition gets out of prime or injured, where they need special rules, categories and contract details to agree to a fight, where they are social media divas. Back then fighters truly wanted to fight the best and fight right away to prove themselves.
