Came for Vampira, stayed for just wandering around Hollywood with you!
6:50 🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 (Now we see where Morticia got the 'Do you mind if I smoke?' concept...the originator was Vampira!) 20:13 That Tower Records building ('8801 Sunset Blvd.'!) was notable for its YELLOW paintwork, at one time. And that statue of Rocky and Bullwinkle wasn't originally on that site--it has been moved, presumably to preserve it, as it used to stand in front of the Jay Ward production offices, where my father used to work (he was a writer on that show). Thank you for keeping the memories alive! ps: That 'coffee shop restaurant sure looks like a 1950s/'60s time capsule to me! Possibly a DuPars? The neon-esque signage is a give-away... Thank you again for the attention to detail and authenticity in every one of your photo match-ups! Unmissable! :D
🦇 Good morning Ghosts! Rolling out the black carpet for this Frightday premiere. Thank you Grimm-Life!

I would seriously consider traveling to California just to visit Hollywood Forever cemetery.
Just when Friday was getting unbearable, Grimmlife posts for us to save the day! ✊️🦇💚🖤

Dice and slice it anyway you want, the Hollywood of 2023 is a boring, character less sh*t hole.
Amazing video! Your channel is my favorite on KZread. Thank you, Michael and Jessica, for working so hard to make these videos 📹. The Grimms Rock!!!

I had a really crappy day yesterday and this video is just what I needed. What a fun adventure, really enjoyed the side quests for the art and historical markers. The Ramones Ducks made me honestly smile for the first time in 24 hours. Thanks guys!
The trees couldn’t be more perfect for her gravesite ❤️
amazing how you dont think twice about the history of a place when you live in it , videos and people like u 2 help keep the legends alive
This is killer. I got the Glamour Ghoul book from the Oregon Film Museum in Astoria. You’ve got to respect someone who survives on only their art, for better or worse.
Thanks you Grimm Life for doing the Vampira Photo Locations and visiting the Famous Vampira's grave.
It's amazing that even after... what-- almost 70 years?-- that some of these places can still be found and identified. 🙂
I LOVE THIS!! The unseen photos really made me gasp out loud! Such a treat to see this video and the locations. So cool Jonny shared these with y'all. I would love to recreate some of these.
Darin Mcgavin was also in Kolchak which as a kid was Awsome
Thank you Michael & Jessica for another fantastic video! I did get to visit her grave once, about 12 years ago. 🖤
Great video Michael! I swear each video you make gets better and better cinematically.
Michael, you are amazing with the research you do for the videos. This was so interesting, and it is fun to see how excited you are when you present the material. As always, a job well done!!!😀👻💀🖤
Had a rough week and this Grimm video is EXACTLY what I needed to make it better. Thank you Michael and Jessica!! ❤️
Fantastic work, Mike and Jessica! This was an amazing journey! I can’t imagine the amount of research it took to bring you to these locations! Lots of tremendous info here! Loved every minute. Take a bow, kids! BRAVO!!!!
Man it's awesome your drive and attention to detail in finding these exact locations. Awesome video. Happy halloween michael and jessica! 🎃.
Thank you! I love this lady and she more than deserves the spotlight ❤ Hope to see you and Baby Ghoul this Halloween season❤
Wow beautiful Vampira 💚🖤🥀I love the monuments. Aww from Christmas Story wow I love the marker with Vampira picture on it. Hahaha comical too. You guys are amazing. Is like being in the back seat and watching your videos. We are with you in spirit. Happy Halloween 🎃💚🖤🥀🎃 thank you
Always enjoy watching you documenting history as always many thanks grim life collective👻👻🔥🔥
Vampira was a little bit before my time but I certainly remember Elvira. Used to watch Elvira every week in the 1980s even though she was mostly only in California she occasionally got played here in the midwest.

Of course I would see Vampira in Plan 9 from outer space. And yes everyone loves Cassandra.
Great job. You have an amazing talent and eye for detail that brings your viewers right into the past and present. Thanks for all your efforts.
Amazing! Love the history, love the comparisons from then and now, LOVE VAMPIRA! Thank you for all the hard work you all put into these videos.
That video with George Goeble was a great comic relief. Wild that Darren McGavin the Nightstalker is so close to her resting place. 😁 Cool saying hi to the ducks.🦆 Happy Halloween y'all 😎
The opening sequence reminds me of Phantasm. Superb camera work, as always and an amazing video. This channel is my spirit animal. Edit: Any chance that the grave "Hull" is Henry Hull from the Werewolf of London?

I don't know, but I used to stock frozen foods, and HULL vanilla ice cream was a big brand. And man, is it good.
these days she would blend right in. she is probably one of my most loved vampires. way ahead of her times. thank you 2 for doing this video. STAY SPOOKY AND HAPPY HALLOWEEN. 👻 ☠ 💀
This was so cool! I love seeing 1950’s L.A.! My mom, who is the least California person you’ll ever meet, was born and raised in L.A. She was born in 1946 and moved away in 1970. My dad is from Wisconsin, so they ended up moving there when she got pregnant with my older sister. They hadn’t planned on moving to Wisco, but my grandma saw a house she thought they might like and the rest -as they say - is history. I always wondered when I’d be like if I had been raised there. I’ve always felt at home there. 🎃🖤
I was one of the contributors in the purchase of her headstone; it's my minuscule contribution of respect.
I wish I could exist in past Hollywood just to see how it was. The streets and buildings feel so much less busy and crowded. Thank you for bringing us along! 🖤
Oh. There really was a May Company. That's where Mary Livingstone worked on the Jack Benny Show. Thanks for all of the old pictures, especially The May Company photo. Much love.😁
Well Michael, you did it again. Another wildly informative and entertaining video. Thank you for taking the time to do such a quality video. You and Jessica are the best!
She was beyond awesome, thank you for all the times you have honored her beloved memory. Awesome job on this one "and life continues to be fascinating" for us with you. Happy Halloween!

Grimms this is yet another beautiful video. Vampira was so unique, such a groundbreaking woman what a Icon. Thank you Michael and Jessica for the jewels you keep rolling out. Happy Halloween
Just WOW… Vampira’s waistline gets me every time!!! Fantastic photo match up, as usual!! 🧛🏼♀️🧛🏼♀️🧛🏼♀️🧛🏼♀️🧛🏼♀️
I just love these Hollywood history tour trips :)! It makes me feel like I'm following along - especially when you get sidetracked and visit stores and other locations. Very cool Martian t-shirt by the way :)! Thank you Michael and Jessica! Looking forward to your next venture :)!
As always, a superb job Michael I love these oddball, Hollywood outcasts of the past.....Vampira, Ed Wood, Tor Johnson, Criswell, even Bela Lugosi....all of them with their own, unique, Hollywood moment, yet not regarded as the "Hollywood elite" (though Bela L sure should have been) I say oddball, because these people (not sure of T.J though) all had their time of recognition, yet at the end of their lives, they'd fallen on hard and difficult times and were sort of outcasts (I feel). These are the kind of people I'm drawn to, and appreciate Thankfully, they're more recognized and appreciated today I was so excited when I found out you were doing this Vampira video I've had a really, rough few days, and this was something I needed to help boost my spirits Thank you Michael and Jessica (I always include you even if you weren't in video) Looking forward to more Happy Halloween🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
Happy Friday Michael and Jessica ready for another Grimm adventure 😊

Good morning Mr Grimm! Some very Spooky photos of Vampira I love them
I love vampira ! I have her on my makeup bag and the og Morticia ha. She was iconic! , Thank you for another grimm video! 🦇🕷️🕸️🖤
One of these days when I can truly afford to be a ghost or patreon I surely will, but I just wanted to say I watch every video (catching up right from the first one too). Quite simply, being into Hollywood history myself, this video blew my mind. Much respect.
Thank you for taking us on your adventure can't wait to see the next one this one was absolutely fun to watch
Really appreciate all the work you put into your videos. You rock!
Thanks for taking us on this tour. The Vampira video footage does show how the character was inspiration for Morticia Addams. Yavone D'Carlo obviously drawn influence from Vampira for Morticia.

Fantastic as always ! Michael has the huskiest and most soothing voice. And Jessica just adorable in all the vids
Omg I totally love this video. Thank you for doing this and showing it on my birthday today. This totally made my day😊
Outstanding video!!!! I so appreciate you celebrating Vampira and doing it very graciously!!!
Love the old school Hollywood like Vampira. 🦇 Cool video 😊
To Michael and Jessica, I LOVE watching grimmlfecollective, I like to tell you for long time now, if hollywood ever make a movie of Vampira, I think Jessica could make a good Vampira for the movie
Playing Dauntless was just listening in and that billboard part had me cracking up. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@grimmlifecollective Thank you for putting this video together and expressing your enthusiastic zeal for movies, horror, old Hollywood, and just history itself. In our digital, minimalistic, throwaway culture, knowing people like you exist who continue documenting, telling, then retelling is such a gift.

Great video I remember vampira I'm a huge James Dean fan and I remember she was a good friend of Jimmy's for a while I also love old Hollywood history and the creepy stuff to ❤
Great video. Thanks for sharing. I loved the cameo of the friendly ducks (I love ducks, particularly white ducks). Also loved the Chaplin, Keaton & Lloyd Alley you showed. Hope you had a great birthday too Michael.
A sunny day that is why this NC girl loves Southern California. 😃 And also the land of make believe. Movie Magic. Loved these photo locations. Thanks for taking the time to do this. It's so cool that Darren McGavin's gravesite is near hers.
Thank you so much for this film. I am absolutely fascinated with Vampira/Maila! A fascinating stunningly beautiful lady well ahead of her time. ❤️ ❤
Awesome can’t wait to check out the Episode Tonight 👏🏻❤️
So damn amazing! Vampira forever 🖤🦇
The ground pounding you do is so appreciated....love all your videos.
Cool HOLLYWOOD history....THANK YOU.
Great video! Thank you for taking the time to do this video
That opening 🔥 great video!
Thanks for that! The one time I went to Hollywood Forever it was closing soon and so I had to dash around and photograph whatever graves I could get to, and I didn’t find Maila Nurmi’s. I only had about a week in LA.
I am a huge vampire tv/movie fan and I had never heard of Vampira. Great video.
Really enjoy your videos. This is so cool. My granddaughter Evelyn drew the leg lamp picture on Darren McGavins' grave. I remember when she placed it there, she sent me a picture of it. I sent her a link to this video, and she was so happy to see it was still there. 😊
Found you guys about 3 months or so ago and have been making my way through your videos, thank you for what you do to bring us these entertaining and informative videos, much love from the UK ✌🏻💜
Thank you Mike for letting us go back in time great vlog as always.
Haven't been in LA in a little over a year, watched this video and legit walked and parked in these locations with the wife and kids, stopped for food and sights. Small world yet Amazing ! Great video Michael ☠️ Happy Halloween ☠️
What can I say...just plain AWESOME video!! Love ❤️ your work!!
I feel like Halloween is coming early this year!! Awesome video!!!🎃👍🧛♀️❤
Thank you so much for this video. I wasn't too big on Vampira but your video has a lot of useful information, that I had no clue about. Both of you put so much effort into your videos and it shows. thank you
THANKS Michael for all the in depth detective work of Vampira! Engaging & informative vlog. The photos were awesome as well. ps... Hey Jessica!

So cool, the "film noir era". The LA of the James Ellroy novels.
She was amazing. And such a great figure. Hollywood was pretty empty, for Hollywood. You were right by LACMA and the Tar Pits, that street lamp installation is part of the LA County Museum. You are so good at lining up pictures. Love you and Jessica.
Grimm-life collective, you Rock!! ❤️
Another Grimm Adventure, thanks for taking us along! Also, Michael saw you in the new, Myth of the Zodiac Killer documentary.
Hi I'm commenting before I watch the whole video of this beautiful lady simply because you're yet to make a boring or bad video Thank you for doing these with Jessica and thanks for showing Mr McGavins resting place stay safe everyone 🙏 cheers Stephen 🤠✌️
