Vampira was a real pioneer. I'm glad you put this together for her. And how ironic it is that The Nightstalker is so close to her grave!

Shes captivating.
Hearing how she was found along with her deceased cat 😢made my burst out crying 😿 She was a big animal lover 😢
It's so sad if she was found with her cat lying beside her. In the state they were in , say's she was lonely and few visitors came to visit very often. I think she would smile with your visit . So cool .
Vampira is our glamour ghoul Gothmother of all time! It’s too bad there’s not enough documentaries on her, thank you for making this video stay ghoul.🖤

Maila also said in an interview that Orson Wells gave her a mad case of crabs. God, I love this woman.
Ravens are uncommon in populated urban areas. If you see a "really big crow" in the city, the chances are good that it really is a crow and not a raven. Common ravens have a well-developed ruff of feathers on the throat, which are called 'hackles'. Ravens soar more than crows. I shall now return to my mom's basement.
I did not know about her connection with James Dean. Absolute winner of a video today. Grimm for Life!

Grim and Jessica. That's a urn vault required by the cemetery. Much like a vault for a casket. Not all cemeteries require one, but most do now. I work for a funeral home as a director as well as a mortician.
LA native and have been going to Hollywood Forever since I was a teen (20+ years). I’d often go by myself and sit on the bench by the willow tree facing the pond. It’s changed a lot… Btw, there have always been kitties running around. I promise you they are well taken care of and very happy! 😊 It’s so nice seeing you guys do what I loved doing when I was a teen. Kinda didn’t realize how special that time was. I loved old Hollywood especially silent film actors! I’d hunt down their graves and read about their stories. I’d visit infamous locations before they were demolished and get tons of pictures! The most memorable was the Ambassador Hotel. I made sure it was always done respectfully and with permission which is what I appreciate most about your videos. Hope you guys are enjoying Los Angeles! You have MANY more locations to cover that I look forward to watching! 🖤 from Pasadena
Never enough KZread content on Vampira! 😄 Thank you for doing an episode on her.
Lily Munster and Vampira have always been my faves. Mortica and Elvira are amazing as well, but, I guess it's just who I was familiar with first. Love the video! ✌️❤️🤘 Stay spooky!

There you go! Where is Lily Munster’s grave (Yvonne DeCarlo).
Quick story. I watch Tim Burton's "Ed Wood" every year at Halloween. When it came time for me to watch it, my wife would ask me what I'm going to do for the night. I would tell her that I was going to go ahead and watch "Ed Wood" for my yearly tradition that night. She would dismissively roll her eyes and say she did not want to watch it and retreat into the bedroom. I would flop the dvd in the machine and enjoy my night regardless of what she would say. Year after year this same exchange would occur between us with her ending up in our bedroom and me having a good time in the front room. That all changed last year. Last year October 2021, she was reading on the couch and I thought tonight would be a wonderful opportunity to watch my ceremonial celebration of Halloween. This year, she stayed on the couch. She has never seen "Ed Wood" and thought it would be boring because it was in black & white. Fifteen minutes later I heard her laugh. I look over at her and her place in her book was being held by her finger in her lap while her gaze was fixed on the television screen. A few minutes later, her book was fully closed and was placed neatly on the coffee table. After the movie was over, I asked her what she thought. I didn't have to ask because her face said everything I needed to know. She loved it and she said she was sorry for being so averse about a movie she never saw. I said it's alright and the that's why you should never judge a book by it cover.
Thank you so much for this
That grave of Chris Cornell hit me particularly hard and I want to say something. If you someone who is using drugs, understand that there is a reason why they want to push their feelings down that way. Don't get them involved with Doctors who will wrongly tell them it's a "disease" and give them dangerous drugs. Sit them down and simply ask the question, why. You'd be surprised how many people can be helped tremendously this way. Once they SEE why, they have a much better chance of stopping themselves.

@@Gusto-dk3rv If you watch "Psychiatry:An industry of death" on KZread, it will all be revealed to you. A whole "Science " that was complete scam from the beginning, and has helped no no one. The best part of this particular film is when the doctors are asked if anyone has ever been "cured" and they laugh. It's a lie and a scam that makes trillions.
Out of curiosity I googled how much is $13 dollars in 1959 & it said in today's money it would equal $117.50 so, that's how much money she had a month. And making $200 for Plan 9 would be $1,807.66.
@solcutta3661
3 жыл бұрын
Yes but u can't equate that to mean anything.. Although many people do this, the fact that it's 117.50 in today's money is misleading because of inflation raising higher and faster than the wage.. So 13 dollars in 1959 would more likely purchase you goods and sundry to the power of 3x. I'm sure there is a fact provider somewhere. A car in 1959 was around 2,000 dollars and a movie ticket was a dollar. So not as bad as u Presumed but yes still pretty low money for a star such as her.. Sad

I don't think they died at the same time. Cats can see spirits so Maila never really left the cat. However, being dead herself, she couldn't feed the cat so she comforted and welcomed it over to the other side when it laid down and died of starvation.

Yeah realy bizzare, especially since any normal cat would just begin to feast on its dead owners body, in just a day or two. There are countless examples of this, so being that the cat did'nt simply consume Vampira, that really is bizzaro. HUH.
The "box" that her urn was placed into is an urn vault, most cemeteries require burial vaults for caskets and urns buried in the ground, keeps the ground level, from sinkage.
I love how she just comes up from behind your shoulder and scampers away! So cute!
I’m so glad you made this! 🖤 She was the original!!! It was really sad and uncool how Elvira ripped Ms. Nurmi’s character off. If you research, you’ll see how Ms. Nurmi sent Cassandra Peterson numerous letters pleading her to stop stealing her character, but those interested in promoting “ Elvira” had deep pockets and Ms Nurmi couldn’t afford her attorney anymore and just gave up. Cassandra Peterson, aka “Elvira” has been laughing her way to the bank ever since. R.I.P. Maila Nurmi

Maila was a very dear friend of mine and I came across your video by accident. She was very private so I will. not say much but I just wanted to say that I appreciated your showing the locations and original photos from her photo shoots I enjoyed that very much. Also she had a great passion for animals and loved cats I've always wanted to open a pet sanctuary in her memory that was one of her dreams so she would have loved that the cats were there. I thought it was very special and meaningful that they were there while you were filming. 🌹💗✨

Correct. As I told Grim and Jessica in my comment. Not all cemeteries require one, but most do now. Much like a casket goes in a vault. They come in plastic or cement with options for fiberglass to bronze lining.
Darren MCGavin, perhaps his most famous role is the dad in A Christmas Story..
The enthusiasm and joy seen on your faces for the subjects you cover is so delightful. Love history, especially lesser known history about everything!!
She was friends with James Dean. He offered her to come with him to the car show he was headed to when he died she declined to go. She said in a interview that was in the bonus features of his movie “Giant” that she had a bad feeling about it. I personally prefer her over Elvira. I believe she sued Elvira over her likeness but they ruled in Elvira’s favor.
Thank you for the shout out to Ed, one of the most underrated misunderstood and most prolific directors who paved the way for many in Hollywood.
