My ex-husband made me feel so worthless, I, a female servant of Allah, considered suicide! But Allah put into my head that He chose me to know Him and worship Him, I'm a revert of 30 years alhamdu Lillah. If Allah values me that's all that matters.

Being married to someone who doesn't love you back is one of the most painful things one can go through and does make you feel worthless. I was married for 5years to a man who didn't feel the same way about me this made me feel completely worthless and rejected on a daily basis. He divorced me and asked me to leave with our 3 kids. 6years later and I can still remember the feeling of him flirting with other women all the time and the pain of him never looking at me that way. I took care of myself and always tried to look good for him. It consoles me to know that our worth only comes from Allah. It doesn't matter who treats us badly because of our physical flaws or doesn't love us back. In Jannah we will look and be perfect . May we all reach there. Love yourself even if you not perfect...

Dear sister, this was indeed a beautiful reminder. Struggling with self worth sometimes comes from deep inside - the wounded child. Going back to our early years when we needed most valuation, acceptance, emotional attuned caregivers and so on. The healing journey can be long and prbly will be a life long. If anyone interested dr Kim sage has got some good videos on that subject. May Allah swt help us to really live up to our worth and therefore become better and stronger and may He help us esp with our children.

I don’t think it’s as black and white, for long time I tried convincing myself that I don’t need validation when I have Allah, however it’s still a struggle - there’s childhood wounds and to add to that we are living in society where it’s all about external validation- it’s a real struggle. Growing up if you were harshly criticised and received no praise from parents you can see how own can seek it elsewhere- May Allah increase us all in healthy confidence and be satisfied with knowing he values us

Self love deficit disorder is a generational curse. It was how we were brought up as kids that made us believe we are not worthy

Love this video Selfrespect is also a protection against abuse. If people see that you have boundaries and loving yourself they cannot abuse you. Very important to love yourself.

When ever peoples put me down .I remembered the hadith our beloved prophet Muhammad saw the woman through rubbish on him and how he delt with it subhanaallah that give me strength to get on alhamdulillah. Sahl bin Sa'd narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "If the world to Allah was equal to a mosquito's wing, then He would not allow the disbeliever to have a sip of water from it." Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2320

O Allah, make my religion easy for me by virtue of which my affairs are protected, set right for me my world where my life exists, make good for me my Hereafter which is my resort to which I have to return, and make my life prone to perform all types of good, and make death a comfort for me from every evil.”

This is such a needed video for this time. We are yet to establish why exactly we are in a global crisis of not valuing ourselves, it doesn’t quite compute what the source of this is. Nevertheless we need to find a way out of this demeaning belief system and get to a point where we truly respect ourselves.

i struggle so much with low self-esteem and especially with my appearance, i am aware that Allah has created me in a beautiful way but i just can't help but feel sad everytime i look at myself whether it be the mirror or a picture, i live with the thought that my appearance is invalidating every good quality i have in me and this is eating me up alive, and everytime i try to be more positive like telling myself that im pretty in the mirror i feel sadder bc i feel like im just lying to myself through my teeth, im so good at encouraging others to love themselves and i can list them a thousand reasons in one sitting on why they should love and appriciate themselves but i can never do that to myself, i criticize myself more than anyone and i cant even take genuine compliments bc they feel like lies bc i cant accept that im pretty or good, im rlly struggling a lot i dont know how to help myself at all
