Lessons from this lecture - Iblees said that he is better than Adam (ALS) since he is made from fire and Adam (ALS) from clay, which lead to shirk. As it is Allah who decides who is better than anyone among us and we don`t have any basis of comparison. * Don`t compare yourself with anyone in this duniya as this is not your job to do, your sustenance is in Allah`s hands and you won`t get anything more or less as what is decided. * Comparing in materialistic items as those of clothes, income, cars, home, etc will lead to arrogance which will lead to jealousy and thus this is what Iblees wants from all of us to fight and holds grudges among ourselves. * you are not superior when compared with anyone else. * If Allah Gave you knowledge, fame, money power etc don`t consider it as a sign that Allah loves you more than anyone else. * Since competition is a natural instinct, you need to compare with the person you were yesterday with the person you are today. * Don`t focus on beating someone else but beating who you were yesterday. * If you have thoughts like "why someone else is happy", "Why he earns more than me", "how can he be successful and I am not", then seek refuge from shaytaan and read and recite Al-falaq. These thoughts are popped up only due to shaytaan and ask Allah for help. * May Allah protect us from jealousy and hasad and ask for the success for all people in this duniya and aakhirah as well.

worfoz You said our prophet Muhammad (pbuh) " child rapist" First of all what is your clue that is true ?what are your references? was it from old scholars or you just assumed that is the truth based on what you have heard or read ? second let me ask you a question how is it possible for a child that was raped as you say by a man when she was young to be one of his most beloved wives and she become one of the biggest scholars of Islam? wouldn't she hate that man who raped here as you say when she was a child? would she even hate every thing that comes out from this man including his massage which is Islam?! Weird isn't it!

it is his unique style Maybe it's strange for you muhammedans but that is how a teacher should work, nothing special, just educational skills. Not muhammeds style, I agree. Muhammed was not a great teacher, more like a dictator who needs to be blindly believed and obeyed.

I didn't know I needed this khutbah so much, until now.

As a desi, I want this video to be sent to each and every family in India and Pakistan etc, cuz this mindset is everywhere there...you have no idea how bad it is...desi weddings are so expensive and families put themselves into debt and they don't care cuz they want their wedding to be better than their cousins... and they say "log kya Kahenge?" (What ppl will say?) May Allah guide us

Nafia Khan, where are you from?

My parents, mostly my father, have always compared me to kids my ages, and even my siblings. I’m 21 now and I’m still being compared to others who have already graduated from university. Now I don’t even want to hear about the successes of others around me because all I can think of is my fathers constant and endless nagging. And even when I do something that I’m proud of and worked really hard for, it’s never enough for them. I’m just so tired of it all and have been honestly considering just dropping out of college. But this Khuthba has made me feel a lot better. Jazakallahu Karin ya Ustaad

It’s been 4 years now, but I relate to you a lot and I think everyone does, it just makes it harder to do things when you are already having a hard time, I hope you were able to push through and Finnish college and I hope your parents have stopped comparing or at least it’s gotten better and lesser though it’s highly likely not

Very useful advice in this in age where social media is full of people’s activities it’s so easy to fall into this trap. Alhumdiliallah is for this important teaching.

Assalamuamaikum, Ustadz Nouman, I have ever told you that you are the only one person that I want your possession. I have never wanted anybody elses possession.I don't care about their spouse,their children, their money and treasures,or their job/bussiness, even i never envy about their appereance given by Allah SWT. You are the only one who I want yours which is your strong relationship to Qur'an. I have never wanted to take it from you, because I love the lectures that you explained to us. There is also a group of people who always says: there is a sky upon sky to me which they mean is not to be humble, but to always compare ourselves to other people and compete them (in a wrong way just like an example in your lecture). So, i have never heard them ( and thus they think I'm arrogant) because I'm agree with you about the right competition you mean and not to compare to other in an envy way. .Alhamdulillah, that you and many other Ustadz around the globe have teached us to improve ourselves to be better by a guidance of Allah SWT in Al-Qur'anul Kariim, so I've got many lessons to know my mistakes and change it to a good way. I don't care anymore about the people who always only like and happy to make fun to other people in a bad way and angry if they are being corrected about themselves. I found thats because many people don't have a good connection to Qur'an. Im happy and so grateful that Im having a good relationship with Al-Qur'anul Kariim (thats because of you).I know that I will still find many tests, calamities and difficulties (this world is a test place,isn't it?!) in my journey with Al-Qur'anul Karim, but insya Allah I will be guided by Allah Subhanawata'alaa through Al-Qur'anul Kariim.
