15:24 My mom is like that too. She recently started memorizing the Quran and that's all she does all the time. Doesn't talk much to her friends, us or even my dad. She's forcing us to memorize Quran and even said she'd stop sending us to school or have an education so that we devote all our time in Quran. Because of her I started to dislike the idea of learning Quran. Y'all pls pray for her so that she may understand us.

I reverted to Islam a few months ago. Your teachings are an absolute blessing to me. Praise Allah. In gratitude 🙏
I recently watched "Our Planet" ... and it's all about how we have damaged our earth by doing excess on many occasions.
Jazak Allah! I am so glad that we women finally have acess to such valuable bayan via youtube. We have been missing out on friday qutbas all our life. But now Allah has been so kind as to bring the Qutbah to me ! And what a khutaba! What recompense for all that I lost in the past ! Shukr o Alhamdolillah. Jazak Allah khair. May Allah reward you a thousandfold brother Nauman
I waste most of my time seeing myself in the mirror ...... thats why i remain so insecure and depressed about my looks and my personality. I have become very agressive because of it and i didn't realized that israaf is overcoming and changing my personality. I am so depressed that i cant even focus in my salah . I am always always angery with my parents siblings and servents . I heard this lecture yesterday and i discovered that it was israaf over self consiouseness and always thinking about buying new products to beautify myself but things were just getting worse .. from now InshaAllah i will look in the mirror as less as possible... May Allah help me and bless brother Noman .. Love you Noman bhai ... Laiba from pakistan

I had this kind of problems too. I had eating disorder, for which I became overweight. I feel extremely insecure about myself. Now, I feel like this is nothing but israaf. I was always overeating, overthinking about everything around me. So, I was so much depressed. But now I feel like Allah is helping me. So, I want to be the best I can be, and stop thinking about what I can't be. (sorry because I wrote a lot. But I feel I want to talk with someone. About my problems. I feel so good now)

@@tasniajahin9028 I feel like I'm borderline close to it. It might be unusual or strange to other people but heres where I'm obsessed at and I devote all of my attention and time to it- English! I know I know its just a language and it's not my first one but there are so many reasons as to why I'm unhealthily obsessed in acquiring fluency down to a native like level. Now I wont be sharing those reasons over here. Anyways I'm trying to change my mindset and accept what Allah has given me. It's hard. Like really hard! I too feel good sharing it over here. The odds are no one will read this comment so I dont have to worry bout any negative comment.

@@shaikadil2197 I know I have to give it my best but this has always happened with me that anytime I learn something new or say I'm preparing for an exam I need to get it down to an almost perfect level. Like, I wanna get the highest grades, 100/100, and what happens is I dont get a solid 100 but maybe an 80 or 90. I get so obsessive over it like why didn't I get that 100 and some other person got that 100. I'm never good enough no matter how much I do. As for english its extra hard for me. Anyways yes I understand. Sometimes you know a solution to something but what you need is hearing it from other people. Thanks for the advice. And thanks for the compliment. By no way was my intention to fish for compliments like, hey its good and all. I'm just thanking you because it means something to me.

Salam, I am "obsessed" with these lectures! Jazak Allah khayr brother Nouman Ali Khan
Thank you so much for your lecture, May Allah reward you. Yes excess and being excessive is bad. Some people who have money like in middle east spend so much on "luxury" things that are not necessary, consuming, buying foreign "luxury" brands that have no meaning and no value and that are even just dealing with for business. Luxury should be based on health, time, relatives, peace and on our own identity, religion and culture ... and not on a metallic piece stuck on a bag, a cloth... on hyper expensive make-up or cars...what the point?! This seems so ridiculous. Some people in the world and not very fare have nothing to eat nor to drink. We really live in a strange world where futility has value and where value is a futile concept. It's quite difficult to not be lost in all that mess.
deep explanation, profound words. Thanks for uploading this lecture. Eid Mubarak!

JajakAllahu kahairan... From Bangladesh🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩
I can definitely relate 2 this lecture. May Allah guide us all
One of the best lecture I have heard to deal with my life's problems. جازک اللہ خیبر Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan !
I can relate. I've been suffering with an eating disorder and anxiety pretty much since childhood. I also have pcos, which basically make carbs, sweets and processed foods as well as dairy bad for me. It's so hard to avoid these foods, and on top I eat more when stressed...and this anxiety manifests in my home as well. I'm very disorganized...postpone and procrastinate on things because the thought gives me anxiety... I have slowly started to change these things, but it's not easy. I used to take refuge from the mess and the eating in entertainment, music and movies, tv series, Facebook. Now we only watch movies on the weekends, I've had enough of Facebook, and I don't indulge as much in music that I was once addicted to. One by one I'm taking each down, using a bullet journal to track them each day. Sometimes I fall back, especially with food, but I want to be healthy, so I don't give up. Sometimes I think I'm weak, but I remember I was not burdened with anything beyond my capacity to endure. This is my test. Each person has a different test. It doesn't help that nowadays we work so much and we are overstimulated constantly. It has become so hard to find time to do things, that is why the suicide rates are at an all time high. We live such unbalanced lives! But the reward must be much greater too, to work through them to find balance.
I don't have to sit and think for my israaf. It already came in my mind during khutba! JazakaAllah for the reminder
What an amazing talk.....this is the real practicality........May Allah give u the highest reward in this world and Aakhirat.......ur speech makes things easier
Thank you so much for this profound reminder, nowadays is so easy to excess, may Allah swt avoid us to excess in any area of our life, may Allah forgive us our sins! All praise to the Greatest. Eid Mubarak to all my Muslim brothers and sisters.

Alhamdullillah thuma Alhamdullillah . I ask Allah to protect me and you and all ummat Muhammed salahahu aleikum wasalam, and t o provide us with health, wealth ,knowledge, and Al jannah

May Allah bless you and reward you for all your hard work and efforts! May Allah always keep your fountain of knowledge flowing. May it continue to benefit me and others till qiyamah! And may you continue to be an inspiration to others! Ameen ya Rab!
