I honestly don't think he's not as good as he was. I actually think he's maybe better with the new riding style. I think the competition and ability of the new generation is just way higher than when he was on top. Back then there was maybe 1 or 2 other riders that could win. Now (without Marquez anyway) there's a whole load of them that could win

@Jack Wilson the competition is so much higher standard than he ever raced against originally. He's had at least 1 podium for over 26 consecutive years. If that's not still being competitive in a world class championship that's now at a higher standard, I don't see what is. Even Lorenzo couldn't podium for consecutive years in much, MUCH shorter time frame

What's not to love about this guy, the chin up with the smiling eyes and most importantly, his animation and accent. So many moments of shear joy and moto Gp suspence for his millions of fan's. The passion is alive, long live "the doctor" The great Valentino Rossi .

My prediction for Rossi was God would get him in 20 20. I wasn't wrong. 2 extremely good shots WERE fired at him and they somehow missed. Barry Sheene is still right when he says it's time to retire. Numbers don't lie.

I am following him since his 125 days. And to see him defending Alex Rins on brakes in last to last race was just phenomenal, so many years and still he is so competitive, leave alone the sport, one can take inspiration from him to be really physically fit at that age. Many people wonder whats tough in riding a motorcyle any 40 year old could do, but those who have track riding experience know how hard it is to spend 10 laps on a track for a 25 year old rider, forget about 40 year old and that to at the highest level of motoGP! He is such an inspiration in all aspects of life.

Lin toasted that guy.........legend. got to be the best manager in motorsport.

I started watching GPs back in the early 80's. Yes, I'm older than Vale. It was always incredible to watch but when this kid from Italy came in and changed the dynamics of the sport things went from incredible to amazing. I never thought he'd still be racing in 2021. Rossi is the man. I am exact same age as him. Racing is only looked at as a young mans sport because an old man hasnt won yet. Rossi is exactly the man to change that. If Rossi should win the championship next year, and stay on top the folliwing year... Then the racing world would be talking about how motogp is an older mature mans sport, and the younger guys just dont have what it takes, the knowledge to push those amazing bikes to put yourself in winning position. The best of Rossi, may still be yet to come! Go ROSSI!
