Lazio denied definite penalty for foul on Veron. Great Valencia team in the late 90's though. They sold Mendieta and Lopez in 2000 to Lazio.

@@claudiosalva6815 li mortacci loro! quella Lazio era molto più forte del Valencia..che gran peccato quell anno uscire così! potevamo davvero sperare in qualcosa di più! Ancora ricordo il ritorno il gollonzo di Veron da 30 metri...che però ovviamente non bastò!

Que recuerdos, que pena que en la final estaban super nerviosos, esa temporada fuimos mucho mejores que el Madrid, pero en finales nos faltaba ese espiritu ganador y Cuper perdió muchisimas finales. Gerard, tras este partido se pensó que iba a ser una super estrella, se fue al Barcelona pensando que triunfaría, nunca lo hizo, banquillo temporada tras temporada.

I don't think he would have done much better. The entire defense were at disarray that night, especially Negro and Pancaro. Ballota was at fault at the 3rd goal for sure but otherwise he was left exposed. Shame, that Lazio were such a brilliant team
