Hi Val, I own IRO optics and they are amazing! I will hopefully use the gen 2 on my next build. Admittedly without having one in my hands I can't give any real comment and I realize this is petty but, in my own opinion, I would like to see the "RECON 2" removed from the side of the objective. It make it look cheap and like a low budget optic. But with that being said I have only heard wonderful feedback form EVERYONE how has used this optic.

Did you ever do a follow up on the G2 Rex?

I have the 3.5 x 18 on a 338lm no issues with recoil. I going to have to get one of these g2 for my 50 though beautiful one piece mounts Val.

Wanted a scope, ,, had the money ,,, the dude never called me back, so fuck it.

I have the original Recon and love it the way it is... not sure I like the changes in the version 2. Maybe after a more thorough review by Rex I'll change my mind.

I know G2 is new. I'm guessing its not yet on the web site, or I must be doing something wrong looking for it.How come KZread categorizes this video as "Comedy"

TheSageBen I'm pretty sure the KZread has no say in how the videos are categorized. KZread is not liking gun channels, as you probably know. Rex's videos have been labled as "Comedy" for a while now. Some misdirection on Rex's part, I'm sure. I lauighed at lseveral times, so it's correctly labeled. :-)

I you ever talked with Val you would know he is a quality man of integrity trying hard to make sure you get the best of the best at a price way better than the others. The only major things this carry's over from IOR are the 40mm tube and Shott glass on the inside. Are S+B, Kahles, March, Nightforce, Vortex, Swvarski, etc. ripping each other off because they use same tube sizes? If so I guess you can't ethically buy any scope from any manufacturer using your logic. You can't buy Schott glass scopes either. Val's side focus, masterful near perfect combination of top level German and Japanese glass gives you a clear advantage over either glass used alone without the balance of the other. Vivid contrast without being too crystal bright. Is 150 MOA a copy? This is a purpose built scope intentionally using the very best innovations known; some of those included features from the excellent IOR plus more. Not to mention that Val now controls all the quality specs as well as availability of supply to you. Consider yourself scolded for your negative poorly thought out assumptions about Val's decision to bring us all a better scope. Thanks Val!

@@FreeYourBrains The price has nothing to do with quality. If you live in the U.S.A. and want one for $500; go ahead and fill out the forms to buy your US Visa, take a few days of vacation, buy the round trip air ticket, car rental, or rail and taxi, hotel, food etc. If they will sell you one for $500 you might be able to save a few hundred dollars. I had actually thought about giving it a try myself at one time, but decided to go the sure less complicated route and find the best IOR deal here in the US. I wouldn't trade it for any other scope I know of; including the other tier one scopes costing twice as much. Good luck brother, I hope you find a less expensive way to get your hands on one. My best wishes go with you.

Ohio West men are you really saying true? If this true I want go to the Romania this summer 100%

I own two IOR Valadada scopes. They both broke and had to be sent in for repairs. One of them was sent in for repairs and it was replaced, a couple of years later the replacement broke and had to been sent in for repairs. I have a told of $4,500 (ish) tied up in these broken scopes. Kahles, NIghtforce, Vortex and or SWFA would be way better options, if you want a scope that won't break in a couple of years.

One looks way better

Scope is made with partnership with japannese manufactures and in earlier videos they stated that recon2 has schott glass which it don’t believe it does.

exactly my thoughts, there is NO valdada-IOR, never has been, it is SIMPLY AND ONLY IOR BUCHAREST. You can buy same scopes from opticswarehouse in england for about $1000 less, why we have to pay more????? because of the greed.
