Val was awesome here, best role ever for him, but the entire cast was fantastic

How Val Kilmer did not win a best supporting Oscar here is hard to understand. My little cousin who saw this film while in middle school in a theater, told me that, after seeing this performance, he thought being sick… was cool.

I would have to double check, but if I remember right that year was absolutely stacked with supporting actors. It doesn’t mean he couldn’t or shouldn’t have won, but I believe that year you could have picked any one of the nominees and been right. I think this was 1994, so at the very least you had pulp fiction. That’s a tough one to go against in and of itself.
Wyatt, I am rolling.
Billy Bob Thornton came in as a favor for his roll. He improvised all of his lines. Director George Cosmatos instructed him to "be a bully." I told him, “Invent whatever you want - just be a bully.” And he really played a bully. - Director George Cosmatos
I'm not a fan of westerns, but this film drew me in, and made me feel like I was right there in the late 1800s.

I pick either entertaining scenes or really western like actions, and those four scenes met the requirements. I tried to keep the final scene when Holiday face-off with Ringo, and Ringo was killed abruptly. Try watch that scene with the slow motion, you would find something which were not justified, which I call it anticlimax.🕹🕹😹😂

The problem I have with Val Kilmer’s version of this actual person is that Doc Holliday in real life wasn’t really like this at all. Maybe to some degree he was, but after hearing interviews and seeing actual quotes from the man and about the real man. This movie gets it all wrong, it’s just a romanticized viewpoint of him. He wasn’t some lone gunslinger offing people left and right. Nor was he at all some hero like this movie portrays him. And yes this movie portrays the men as some incredible hero gunslingers. I love the movie but it’s just not at all accurate depictions.

There was a mutiny against the incompetent director on site: great script, phenomenal cast, and the director was blowing it. Kurt Russel took over, so the acting was just great; but was Russell qualified and available to oversee the film editing? Unlikely. So it feels like scenes are held together with scotch tape. But the shooting and intrascene editing is perfect. That first shot of Val Kilmer! and that whole scene.
