Vagus Nerve Stimulation | Trauma Sensitive Yoga

In this short clip we explore a pranayama (breath work) practice that stimulates the Ventral Vagus nerve, followed by neck stretches that relieve tight muscles and continue to stimulate the Vagus nerve.

I released😦 I cried and exhaled so deep, from the bottom of me I exhaled and held it for long periods over and over and I felt emotions, old ones from when I was in elementary school and now my sciatic nerve doesn't hurt or bring me discomfort and I've had that pain for as long as I can remember. I feel lighter in my chest and in my heart.ive found something that can heal me and for that I Thank You. I have so many more thoughts but I'm not trying to write a book but. Thank You. Truly.

Thank you for this. Within 4 min I was crying as I released the deep deep trauma stored in my body that forever been with me. Thank you for reminding me it’s safe to be in my body and not runaway from the scary deep overwhelming feeling inside my beautiful sacred body that I am slowly realizing it’s power and miraculousness I love your videos and I have passed it on to few DV groups.

Thank you. So much. I yawned and cried. Which is a good sign of release for me.

I was not previously familiar with the Vagus nerve but after doing this practice will definitely learn more about it--especially its role in immune function (and maybe autoimmune health too). This was my second video I've watched from your channel and I look forward to more! I've been trying to decrease anxiety these past few days in so many way, and this was the only experience that feels like it is exactly what I need in these moments. Thank you for sharing your practice!

Thank you so much for giving a safe space. I started crying at the “omm” moment. An old, suppressed emotions came out. Also I want to tell you that your voice is super calming and beautiful. Thanks for this.🤍

Thank you for your videos, i love them! i was doing a lot of yoga with adrienne, and i finally found another online yoga that i really like doing! it's like ideal balance between talk and silence at your classes. It was very relaxing, but while turning my chin up and pressuring gently that above collarbone area, i was feeling a bit nauseous and had to turn my chin down and stretching my neck only gently! I'm a bit spaced-out and it feels kind of like after bilateral stimulation (when i first stated emdr). Both very relaxing and powerful!

This was incredible. I did notice my left side was may more tight than my right and after the neck exercises to the left I felt light headed and a bit of a head rush after. I do have vertigo. Is that expectsd

I tried to do the humming but I had trouble keeping my natural breath because it reduced airflow so I amped up airflow because not being in my natural rhythm triggered anxiety but i think I managed to injure my throat. Speaking hurts
