Gizmo Kitten well, the dog was practically his only friend I guess u could say family and without the dog he wouldn't have anything to keep him happy and without the dog his life would be miserable. Though I do agree u shouldn't stop a whole city just for ur dog Edit: probably gonna get some hate from this

I am so glad I watched this again, as new things stood out to me on the rewatch. First of all, the movement of the city, I swear I am wracking my brain trying to recall if I even acknowledged this before, I am fairly sure I did not notice before because I had no idea the city was a train, but on the rewatch I now see that the city is in fact "breathing" with the train's movements. Another thing was the mural the kids were drawing, the city as a dragon being fed, this had no significance the first watch and I love the inclusion of things like this in media

for me, I assumed the city was moving at 3:43, I was unsure of whether or not this was just the dust storms, but for some reason it clicked that the city was moving and it ran into such dust storms; this specific scene also is reminiscent of many movie scenes atop trains

Wow! Mortal Engines vibe. It's amazing how once you've seen the twist the first time, you can go back and pick out so many tiny details that give it away. The train whistle, signal crossing and clicking tracks in the first few seconds, the swaying of the whole city as it moves along the tracks, the streams of clouds going by signaling that everything is actually moving. And you repeatedly hear signal crossing sounds and faint train whistles and the whoosh of steam as from an old time steam engine train. There are constant train related sounds in the background that at first you dismiss as just city sounds, but then realize you were hearing the train the entire time. Very clever use of sound design throughout!
This is a great example of what you can achieve with animation. It can be so much more when people use it to it's full potential. Beautiful piece of art.
Good thing Louise and Gene were there to help him save his dog.

Wow, what a world they constructed. Fantastic animation, I really like the art style, the ending blew me away. It's a bit ironic to me how this place looks so industrialized and advanced, yet bears winding streets instead of the grid plan, like old pre-Hellenism cities.

I'm not a great critiquing kind of person, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say this. This animation probably is meant to say that when the world is a distopia, and no one realizes what they're doing to the environment, only those who appreciate what's left of it will be able to stop the chaos. Or something like that.
You have to stop sometimes if you wish to see the blessing you have or the peril you live in.
Congratulations for this lovely graduation film ! And thank you for mentioning us the credits :)

Having been there it is because you must squeeze everything you can out of the littlest detail and appreciate the great difference between whatever it is and not having it. For example not having a running car compared to one that is old, no a/c.. so much better.. BUT having one $30 car or another? How much hardship is it saving you from...
Good lord! My favorite piece of this year to come out of the animation workshop, great job guys. Very endearing story
So heartwarming, how could anyone dislike this?
I was fascinated by the city It gave me a bioshock feeling at first
Its already been said, but Ill say it again. Amazing! I enjoyed every moment of this film.
Just wow! It honestly shows how far society has gone and is heading.
I just love this channel :) Only here can I see wonderful short animations that do such a great job of creating a universe and telling a great story in such a short time.

i feel like it kinda represents how love will still triumph through even when things have gotten so bad. if he hadnt thought of all the memories of his pupper he wouldnt have been able to muscle an entire city to a hault
beautiful, intriguing, gripping, inspiring, this animation has it all.
it was a giant train!! so cool

There is such creativity and diversity. This is the world I want to see. Theese are real films.
This is some fine and atonishing animated work, I love EVERYTHING about this wonderful piece, the animation, the style, the different messages through the whole short, the music, the colors, everything is just simply beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing this with the world, I'm so surprised to see that is not very well known, in any case, everyone involved in this proyect MUST feel proud!
Thank you for not killing off either the dog or the old dude for cheap feels.
This has to be a work of talent, hard work and pure love. There's no other way it can get any more beautiful than this.

Coolest original idea for a world I've seen
awesome
He not only saved his dog, but all of the people on the ship.
THIS WAS INCREDIBLE, I HOPE WHOEVER MADE THIS HAS OR GETS A CAREER IN ANIMATION.
This was absolutely mind-boggling amazing, stupendous even. And you're telling me that this was hand drawn!? With this under their belts, these graduates have a bright future indeed!
I showed this to my school and everyone thought the dog was gonna die at the end someone slowly clapped and everyone stared clapping it was such a beautiful animation!
I'd do the exact same thing, even at the end of my days, even in death. This is beautiful.
I literally started crying in fear for the dog, beautiful work. such relief when I saw he saved his friend.
wow that was a cool twist ending

In less than 10 minutes an animation brought me from the edge of my seat, to shock, to tears of happiness. Something a blockbuster movie has yet to do in the 2 hours they have.
The silence at the end of the movie was the most stunning thing! Amazing job!
Thought this was going to be another cliche but boy was I wrong, very interesting, entertaining and heart warming.
I'm glad to know only 37 people in this vast world don't adore and appreciate this work of priceless art.
Enjoy the little things
This was amazing! Great storyline, great animation, great concept art.... Please tell me that this has won an (or many) award or something because it definitely deserves it!
This is probably one of my favorites.
This is real friendship 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I use to hate KZread recommendation, but I love it now
I love the twist at the end
The landscape at the end feels like something from a Ghibli movie
This one was beautiful. I've been missing that joy lately. So glad I watched this.
this animation was good
Das ist eine wahre Freundschaft ❤❤❤
oh my god all the feels....i'm crying right now because of how emotional this all was. I love it! and in the end i'm left thinking of this one question from all the symbolism: "If you had the power, would you literally stop the world if it meant saving one companion?"My answer is yes...
Woah. This needs at least 16 awards
Honestly one of my favorite graduation films I've ever seen-- if not my favorite. Beautiful work
The quality of the art was some of the best I've ever seen from TAW's shorts! Incredible!
beautiful story.. the love between the dog and his human is so realistic. thumbs up!

Every thing about this was beautiful, the animation the story the world. Amazing job.
Sacrifice everything for that one little thing you adore
That's my favourite so far!
Incredible ! Clearly on of my favorite of all time !
Wow. Amazing! Especially the ending.
Absolutely wonderful.
soo i just found this animation and i must say this is what that new movie about the moving citys which name escaped me allready could have been .. something with a message and meaning behind it insead we got a mildly boring spectacle with a lot of exposition in between. and that is what makes this even more impressive to me i was exited and emotionaly invested in these caracters and allmost could smell the fresh air at the end with the movie i mentioned beforehand i just fell asleep ... no really i did thaks for this im glad i stubled across this masterpiece of animation while procrastinating homework
Absolutely beautiful
This is beyond beautiful!
Only just found this but I love it! Couldn't breathe when the flash back moment happened-amazing! Gonna binge all your stuff now.
I cried after he had a flash back about his dog, the only family he had left. And he saved his dog. This video is making me so emotional while im at the bus... omg people asked wft is wrong with me.. ? 😢😭

IM NOT CRYING!!!! I HAVE SOMETHING IN MY EYE
1:07-1:10 made my heart shatter
Really loved this! It was a very heartwarming and edge of my seat, brilliant.
This needs more views and likes, its so awesome!!!!
So, the city train is modern society. An industrial behemoth that is chundling blindly forward, consuming everything in its wake as everyone rushes about keeping the damn thing running without ever taking a second to see the world around them. Ignoring each other as they keep their head down and do their bit. And it isn't until someone slams the breaks on the whole thing that people take a moment and stop and see that we live in a pretty beautiful place. When we actually slow down to appreciate it. That's what I got.
this was such an amazing short film
The detail is amazing in this! :D Now that's dedication
I love the futuristic metropolitan landscape
Parabéns a todos os envolvidos no filme.
