Vacuum Agitation & Carpet Cleaning
When people talk about vacuums, it seems like "suction" is the most desired trait. Suction in and of itself is a misnomer, but in this video we look at an aspect of cleaning that is often overlooked... agitation!
A vacuum needs to agitate aggressively to properly deep-clean a carpet. All the suction in the world won't help clean your carpet if you can't drive the dirt out with a brushing action.
In this video we compare a machine with excellent agitation (Riccar R40P) and a machine with poor agitation (Shark NV-500). Check out the difference in slo-mo!

Absolutely great demonstration. I'm considering a Sebo e3, would this vacuum agitate as well as the Riccar? Or as bad as the Shark?
This is the reason I will only use a vintage Hoover on my wool Persian rugs. They literally invented the principle of positive agitation and have some of the longest lasting, easiest to service motors ever made. the Hoover agitator is super effective at bringing grit to the surface (beats as it sweeps as it cleans), sweeping it into the direct air stream and sucking it into the bag. I’m sure many will whine about the fact that it doesn’t have 4 hepa filters, that doesn’t bother me. I want a machine to deep clean my rugs not filter the room air. A 3M filtrete type C bag really helps and keeps air flow consistent until full. Sorry for the rant but shark is garbage and riccar is overpriced for what it is and the false claim of “made in the USA” is embarrassing for the company(or should be).

Glad you like your Hoover! And just as an aside, Riccar claims "Assembled in the USA from globally sourced components" which is completely correct as their Missouri model currently stand.
amazing, so conclusion is the vacuums in comerce are utterly useless

I will not use those like Reccar for pick up large hard debris from carpets. Very noisy. I will use those like Shark to pick up large debris from carpet. As for sand and other fine dust, opposite
