    We love making these reviews and providing information to the public. However, buying new vacuum models at retail and spending time testing them gets pricey! If you found this video helpful or if we saved you a few bucks, you can thank us by giving a Super Thanks. It is not necessary, but it is always greatly appreciated!

    Thank you for covering the tiny wheels!!!! I was hoping they would just pop out. We just grabbed one on prime day. I’m not 💯 that this is one I need. 3 large breed furry dogs and kids. I’ve cleaned out the machine twice already from it being stopped up. 👀

    So this video was extremely helpful and extremely unhelpful at the same time. Cause what you’re saying is, I need a vacuum to clean my vacuum,noted. But also, what are the instructions for someone that has not cleaned this thing in three years? What can get wet? What can get really wet? And what do I throw away and replace?

    I have a Rainbow E2 Black, which I absolutely love. I mostly have hard floor with a few large area rugs. I am highly tempted to purchase the Shark Vertex upright. I’m aware that they aren’t repair friendly. However, for light cleaning the duo clean seems to do fantastic on hard floors especially for removing fine particles.

    Hey Dalton! For most household debris, I actually prefer the regular Dyson V10 carpet head with the adjustable front gate. It can pick up large objects and does a good job on bare floors without rely on the fluffy roller. Just my opinion, though. I hope you are happy with whatever you get!

    I have this vacuum and one thing we struggle with is random moisture that builds up in the dust can - we have to keep the canister open to prevent any moisture from hanging out in the can. It's so hard to clean if there is. I got moisture in there in the first place from vacuuming out an air conditioner filter on an especially hot day and I opened it a few days later to empty it and there was a horrible smell from there. That is the second time. Do you have any tips on taking out that blue part? I find that moisture accumulates between the rubber ring on the bottom of the blue part and the top where the filter goes.

    2:45 in order words, non-detergent cleaning chemicals. Also use a plastic spudger whenever you have to pry apart plastic, that way you are not destroying the housing.

    I learned all sorts of new stuff here except what I am looking for. Loki can see thru the window that there is hair trapped where I’m assuming the belts are. (Both ends). Is there no way to take out that top roller where the rubber fins are so I can get underneath it to clean out that hair? Also, I don’t see any damage to the rubber fins but I do see damage to the brush parts of that top roller. Is that an issue?

    On this machine there is no way to remove the brushroll without disassembling the nozzle. It is a little bit of an undertaking, but I have a similar disassembly video on our Shark playlist for the Vertex corded. Hope that helps!

    I just came across your video, thank you! This was very helpful:) I went searching for answers as to why the light is on but the roller isn’t moving!! Now I know, I probably should buy a new vacuum already:( I loved this vacuum but it’s not very repairable friendly:( I have 1 dog, & 2 cats.. the hair can be seen through the window & it is solid hair is all I can see:( I’ve cleaned everything that you demonstrated, very helpful:) Also, the part about not keeping the battery charged constantly was a bonus, I didn’t know this either, thanks again. I will check out your other videos too:)

  • @HouseOfVacuums

    @HouseOfVacuums

    2 жыл бұрын

    Oh man, pine needles and hay are bad news for pretty much any household vacuum cleaner. They are long enough to get stuck in hoses and light enough that they aren't easy to knock free with air flow. I hate to say it, but if that is what you are dealing with I would go the utility vacuum route, something like Ridgid at Home Depot. Make sure to get the largest hose diameter you can. There really isn't a better option in my mind. If I'm not think of an option, I'm someone will chime in.

    Hey Kelli, thanks for the question! Yes, the rear HEPA is washable. To get to it, take your cup off and remove the foam filter. There will be a gloss black panel behind it. Pull and wiggle that piece until it comes free than that will allow you to clean the HEPA. Hope that helps!

    I am having issues with those teeny tiny wheels on the "Squeegee" as you called it. The part that comes off using a screwdriver. I use a nickel. The wheels are clogged with hair/fur. Help? Update...I just forced them out. Also If I see hair on the power fins in the window but not on the bottom, that means I can't get to that area?

  • @HouseOfVacuums

    @HouseOfVacuums

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi Kimberly! You did the right thing on the wheels, they are just press fit so you will need to pry them out everyone once in a while because they like to collect hair. As for the hair you are seeing at the top of the power fins chamber, it is likely not on the brushroll itself since you cannot see it from below. It is likely caught on the "comb" at the top of the housing that collects the hair off the power fins. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to get to those without disassembly the machine... so you'll probably have to live with it. Thanks for watching. Hope that helps!

  • @HouseOfVacuums

    You shouldn't get anything but the clear portion of the cup damp. If you get water in the upper air chamber of the cup (the purple/blue part) it will take forever to dry. Unfortunately, the clear plastic on the nozzle that you can't remove really can't be cleaned without completely disassembling the nozzle. For carpet powders, do not use anything that is baking soda based. That will get past your filters and it is really, really bad for the motor. If you want to use something like that which is safe, I recommend a styrofoam base product like Feather Lite which you can Google to find some retailers.
