”V" Wacky' setup. Bass Fishing Tips

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hello! Angler Waki here. Today, I'm excited to introduce the ”V" Wacky' setup. a popular Wacky rigging practice called 'V-SASHI' in Japan. This video will show you how to effectively set a hook to form a 'V' shape in the worm's body, enhancing the lure's responsiveness and grip, especially useful in finesse-style bass fishing.
Discover the advantages of the V-Wacky setup as I take you through my fishing journey, where I caught four impressive fish, including one over 3 pounds, despite losing only one worm thanks to heat shrink tube tuning.
If you find this video helpful, please give it a thumbs up, share with friends, and don't forget to subscribe for more innovative fishing tips and tricks. Catch you in the next video!

Thats a really good idea. The hook grips the worm much better. I'm gonna have to get some of those jig head and some V shaped hooks.

I use the Do -it wacky jig hook in a size 6 and use round split shot to make my own weighted wacky hooks .I use a pair of shears to open up the shot wider then use pliers to crimp on .I then use nail polish to fill gap of shot and to match color of bait im using. Great for 3in senko and bps 3in split tail stiko.plus i can vary the shot size to coditions as needed

Great sound effects. Instead of the v-wacky, I tie small homemade springs to the hook shank. I then twist the spring into the worm. It holds great and gives me the full hook gap for hook holding power.

Yup. To save a worm from being ripped off, using a small spring is a great idea! I have a video on that. However, I've found that the combo of a spring and a v-setupped hook could cause the worm to damage badly when setting the hook on the stikes. So, instead, I use heat shrink tubing for V setup. @@AnglerWaki Yes, AnglerWaki. I watched your spring video when it came out. Good one! I'm also aware that some Japanese brands sell the springs for retail. I'm going to share with you that I use a circle hook for my wacky worms. I started fishing Senkos years ago on trips with my young sons. During these trips, I found that the best hook to use with young kids was a circle hook. A circle hook requires no hook set and rarely hooks fish in the stomach, instead hooking them in the corner of the mouth. The circle hook point is also curved, and snags less. I've continued using circle hooks to this day. For some situations, I tie on the spring. I'm honestly surprised that more fishermen aren't using a circle hook for the wacky rig. My thoughts.

I take the springs out of old lighters under the flint and do the same thing with them and by doing this you can have the hook facing normal or parallel
