Heat shrink wrap has been crucial for me with the wacky rig. It takes just a few minutes to put a 1/2 inch section of clear heat shrink wrap on the middle of a whole pack of worms. Each one lasts substantially longer and the action and appearance of the bait is not affected at all.

I use the same but I just have black. It still works fine for black/blue flake, green pumpkin, or junebug I can confirm. I'll have to get some clear to try next time!

Steve Rogers just did a video with 21 different brands of stick baits showing them fall weightless and with a weight and the Stick-O did NOT perform as well as the Senko or Berkley General weightless.

also- totally on the senko- dinger deal. Usually I use senko weightless; dinger w a sinker or wacky jighead. I'm always usin' baitcaster w these: sometimes ten; usually twelve or fifteen floro- i exclusively use the gamagatsu finesse wide gap. Much better hookup ratio than the octopus style- similar profile, but different. Great way to get a big bite for sure.

Great method. Was able to trigger fish to bite last spawn season twitching sub surface. Saw a bass coming up to feed on shad every few moments this week - twitched wacky subsurface and watched it come out of cover at it! Turned away but shows it does work 😎

My Wife loves fishing the wacky. I love fishing the wacky- been using the VMC Cross Over since they first came out. Just picked up the Core Tackle weighted wacky hooks to use also. Excited to see how they work. I also make my own stick baits. I can custom my sink rates using sinking plastisol, make them float using floating plastisol. I can make them anywhere in between. I can custom my colors and add all the flash I want with flake. My favorite is a core stick bait. Clear out with orange or purple core has really proven to be my favorite.

Timely advice. I’m fishing a kayak tourney tomorrow and a wacky rig will be my primary bait. In practice I caught a 5 lb (20”) and 4 lb (19”) back to back within mins and had a fish knock the rod out of my hand and took my bait off the hook in between.

I’ve tried so many different kinds of soft stickbaits, senko variations, and I ALWAYS wind up back with a Yamamoto, there’s just something about em. The bps version doesn’t quite have the same squish and twist in the water. My go to is just black. Original senko works shockingly well and way better, for one reason or another, than any other brand.

I work my wacky rig similar to a soft plastic jerkbait but i only move my rod tip about an inch. Just enough to git it to fold but not too much to pull it off the bottom. I have also been using the 5 inch yum dinger on a weedless wacky hook. I have been catching more bass than usual using this technique. I have also tried texas rig but they only pick it up and dont eat it.

Up north when the bass first move up on docks suspending looking at you like you're dumb af for trying to catch them I'll use this technique 😂. I throw it out and let it sink a little and aggressively twitch it along the whole dock without stopping back to the kayak. It's usually the bigger females that hammer it! If it's working, I'll use it to cover a lot of water..

@briangravel3231 gamakatsu finesse wide gap 3/0. I like the bigger hook for better hook up ratio, and I make my own fluorocarbon weed guard when fishing cover. Bigger hook gives room for the weed guard to compress out of the way.
