Let me get this straight. After the police told the protesters, including the Professor, multiple times to disburse and leave or they would use force to get them to disperse… the Professor’s defense is that, “they started it”? Unfortunately, I don’t think he’s getting his job back. The police have body cams. It’ll be hard to prove his case.

I was forced to take cap for ut Austin for not being good enough, and if I met the requirements, I would’ve been forced to be in liberal arts, not in my major of choice, If I would’ve taken that route, that guy would’ve been my teacher, well, that’s why I want a real major, not liberal arts, so gonna work for moody college of communications

Is it me or did the recently-discharged Professor argue that, had it not been an emotionally charged political demonstration, his actions would, most likely, not have been prosecuted? Is he so self-absorbed that he can’t imagine the effect his acting out and, by implication, encouraging others to do so had on the officers attempting to keep the peace? He was prosecuted because he yelled expletives directly at police, made an aggressive “finger-in-face” gesture and then engaged in a bit of bike tugging and minor bike damage. He should stay fired because both his actions on that day and his “defence” argument are low-grade.
