USWE Hajker Pro 24L Rolltop Backpack Review

The USWE HAJKER PRO 24L Rolltop Backpack is my favorite bag for the Camino de Santiago, hut to hut hikes, and day hikes. The best part, it's waterproof and comfortable.

Thanks Lainey for another entertaining video. I bought the 30 litre pack and have used it on day hikes so far and going on the Portuguese Camino in less than 2 weeks time with it. I love the waterproofness (if thats a word) and the detachable bumbag which I will wear in the evenings and leave my bag in the auberges locker. C u on the Camino sometime.

Thank you so much for the review! I have the 30-liter black version and I LOVE IT. In fact, I just took it snowshoeing this morning and it does really well in the ice and snow. I'm a larger size at nearly 6 feet tall, so the 30-liter works great for my frame. It took me a while to get used to the tie-down bungee cords on the sides, but the pack has all the room I need for my hiking essentials. I want to thank Lainey and Shawn for bringing the pack to my attention. 😁👍

The Velcro liner bag is genius. Never saw that before. Also great the way the hip belt is detachable. Excellent review and i know i can trust you and your partner - esp after seeing him rock the Camino with a waste pack! You guys are pros.

Hi Lainey, Debbie from New Zealand again. Backpack arrived super quick. It’s perfect! Also wondering how the silk sock liners work with quarter length socks. Do they come up above the socks? Would it be better to get crew length socks? Thanks Lainey, Debbie

That's great to hear. I hope the bag works out for you. I like my sock liners taller than my socks. That way, I can pull them up on chilly mornings and roll them down in the afternoon.

Does anyone know how the black version differs from the white one, apart from being cheaper and lighter. My wife who is 5ft 1in is searching for a suitable backpack for the Camino Frances in September, It's very difficult to find anything about it, I really liked your review

The black one is less durable fabric and I think it has a pocket or two fewer on the outside. Thanks for watching!

Kia Ora from New Zealand. I would love to buy this backpack. I love that it’s waterproof and fits smaller women as I am also petite (5ft). However Amazon don’t ship it to New Zealand. Wondering if you can suggest another legitimate online shop please. Many thanks 🙏

Have you thought of using a Vaucluse Backpack Ventilation frame to increase the ventilation and decrease the abrasion of the backpack?

A complete waste of space, weight, and money. I've had a lot of success with a cheap sit pad strapped to the back, and bonus: it can also be used as a sit pad.

@@Andy-Mesa i love my Vaucluse with a frameless pack. HUGE difference in sweat on my back and sweat on the pack - which creates a nasty stinky funk that is hard to get out. Yeah, everybody is aware of the sitpad on the back trick - that doesn’t stop you from sweating profusely on the back and overheating. The Vaucluse also helps distribute weight in frameless packs so that bulging items don’t bump up against your back (like the small bear canisters). Yes, you can spend the extra time and energy to fit everything perfectly so that even a canister doesn’t hurt your back on a frameless pack. But it’s an added benefit that i just don’t need to play Tetris with my items every morning. As for money - a Vaucluse is super cheap for what you get with it (i think it’s about $40??). Now think of how many high quality and expensive merino shirts this YTer will go through that get torn up from her frameless pack? The issue isn’t the pack itself (from what I can tell) but the excessive sweat and friction that would be caused by any frameless pack or pack with direct contact with a pack. Her merino shirts should last much longer with Vaucluse. Any way - great video and I’ll likely buy one of these packs as a gift.

@@Andy-Mesa That's another great solution. And honestly, this bag is super comfortable and I don't mind back sweat since I sweat that much with a trampoline back anyways.
