Ustads Zakir Hussein and Rais Khan were so well-matched. Both shared a high level of intensity matched with creativity. Not often one encounters two musicians like that together.

Ustad Rais Khan was a true poet of the sitar. His khyal wandered into beautiful places.

Zakir came straight from Indra loka or krtik... he is from khan saheb also! he breaks the string 2 times in this precious concert of nand kalyan... this is priceless. and yet he is not affected by that, he keeps his mood and concentration fit for his sweet playing. RIP maestro, RIP. we are forever greateful, my humble testimony..
