Yeah i loved this misssion for how big the map was

I don't know why, but the campaign missions where you didn't play as special forces, and instead closer as a "regular", were always the most atmospheric and immersive for me. Now it's all just SAS/CIA/other elite unit type operations. I really miss these types of missions.

I liked how MW2 expanded on playing as a "regular". Yeah, Rangers are Special Forces, but it felt better fighting a large scale conflict than partaking in CIA/Covert Op types of missions

Just to name a few(in crew expendeble when the ship is hit your character actualy fals on his arms,and gaz touches your shoulder -when you are in the training mission soap actualy opens the door -down the rope they changed it, is much more natural and slower -when you get hit by the nuke your character holds Lt. Volker and then he is trying to save himslef -Kamarov now looks angry when he is told that he is staying there,etc,etc and etc. Either you dont see right or you didnt pay attention to the details.

11 years back, there were people who were playing this for the first time. I've finished this game over 5 times now but nothing can beat the feeling of playing it the first time. COD died with the final mw3 game. It just hasn't been the same since.

Ironic considering gulag would be one of the few missions where a helicopter being taken down easily would have been acceptable considering the sheer amount of bullets and rockets filling the air. But here was a good example of how useless untrained hands are at shooting down helicopters with unguided explosives.

Pretty sure "Stack up" means you gotta get behind/next to Vasquez when he puts a breaching charge on the door. Also, DO NOT stand in FRONT of the doors since a breaching charge can actually kill you

This Middle Eastern army is a terror group. Like most Islamist terror groups they are comprised of militants from various countries. ISIS for example had a lot members from Dagestan, Syria, Chechnya, Egypt, Sudan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia. But they were located in Iraq and Syria.

I keep forgetting some of the characters. I remember Alan because of the infamous No Russian mission and how he was undercover but I forgot completely about Jackson. I only remember Ramirez.

Cause in every COD game since MW3 you've been some kind of secret squirrel spec ops guy instead of a regular grunt in a believable conflict. COD 4 had a good balance of you being a Marine grunt in the Middle East and an SAS operator. Too much lone hero aspects in the new CODs.

I like when missions starts with helicopter deployment where you sit at epic Black Hawk (especially if have a good view), then it landing or dropping ropes and you deploy at ground...

I still play this one mission everyday and War Pig too. But this one feels actually damn real.

I've played this games entire campaign millions of times, even the original 2007 back then, just for this mission.

i wish i could play this remastered version,i love USMC missions in this game

I know it looks cool and all and is a reference to Apocalypse Now. But god, a single aa system would have liquified those choppers, also. A stealth operation would have done the trick in both getting the intel and getting the hell in and out of there faster than a city wide sweep. But i get it's supposed to look cool.

how can you assume that a stealth operation would have worked? A stealth operation would have been as equally cool. Anyone overseeing this operation would definitely do a stealth mission if it would have meant less possible deaths but obviously not with this scenario.

They don't - the Marines use the UH-1Y. I guess the game devs wanted a US chopper that they could use for both the US & British missions (instead of making a specific one for each) so they probably went for the Blackhawk due to both its widespread use and that they didn't figure the audience would tell that the Marines don't actually use it

The Marines do not own any Black Hawks are far as I can tell, but I know guys like recon and such will use the Navys Sea Hawks and the MARSOC guys will definitely be riding in 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment Black Hawks

At the time the game was originally made they used black hawks briefly but in the remastered they should have changed it

Look closely on Black Hawk's tail,you can see writing of "Army" which indicates USMC collaboration with US Army

i like your playing style. you are trying to play the most realistic way (for call of duty standards)

As an American who wants to be a Marine Raider then rejoin as an Officer when I’m older, playing as Jackson felt so badass.
